İbrahim’in çağrısına cevap vererek mübarek bir yolculuğa çıkmış; hac, meşakkatte arınmayı, sabırda huzuru arayanların seferi olmuştur. Dünyada sadece bir “ yolcu ” olduğumuzu hatırlatan bu eşsiz sefer, İslam’ın temel ibadetlerinden biridir. Şartları taşıyan her Müslüman için haccetmek farzdır. Nitekim Kur’an-ı Kerim’de Allah Teâla şöyle buyurur: “ Yolunu gücü yetenlerin Beyt’i haccetmeleri, insanlar üzerinde Allah’ın bir hakkıdır. ” Hac, sağlığı ve maddi durumu yerinde, hacca gitmek için imkânları yeterli olan her erkek ve kadın için sorumluluktur. Hac zamanı dışında Mekke ve Medine’yi ziyaret ederek umre ibadetini yerine getirmek ise her Müslüman için bahtiyarlıktır.
