  • Milton: a Poem is an epic poem by William Blake, written and illustrated between 1804 and 1810. Its hero is John Milton, who returns from heaven and unites with Blake to explore the relationship between living writers and their predecessors. While on earth, Milton also unites with his feminine aspect, Ololon. The poem describes progress toward the apocalyptic union of living and dead, internal and external reality, and male and female. • Francisco Pizarro (1471 - 1541) was born into poverty, the illegitimate son of a Spanish soldier. After a brief career as a swineherd, he volunteered to join an expedition to the colony of Darien in Panama. He rose through the ranks to become right hand man of the governor. After hearing rumours of a rich country of gold to the south, he received permission from the king of Spain to lead an expedition to explore and attempt to conquer the Peruvian empire. This biography describes how, with an army of only 168 men, he was able to subjugate an entire nation. - Summary by Patrick Eaton

  • Lucas and Luna explore the craft of people management in a series of focused conversations grounded in real-world cases and data. Each episode tackles a specific management challengeโ€”hiring for culture fit vs. skill, conducting effective performance reviews, navigating team conflict, delegating without losing control, or building psychological safety in hybrid teams. Lucas brings the research (Gallup engagement data, Google's Project Aristotle, HBR case studies) and Luna pushes back with frontline practice from her own experience managing teams of ten to fifty. They avoid platitudes; instead, they walk through concrete scenarios like how to tell a high performer they're not getting promoted, how to run a retrospective that doesn't devolve into blame, and how to set boundaries with a CEO who keeps bypassing the chain of command. The show serves mid-level managers who have six to twenty direct reports and want to get better at the human side of leadershipโ€”not the theory, but the messy, daily work of helping people grow. Lucas and Luna don't pretend to have all the answers, but they ask the right questions: what do you owe the employee who is good but not great? How do you balance fairness with flexibility? When is it right to push someone out? Every episode ends with a tension that lingersโ€”the kind of conversation managers keep having with themselves long after the mic is off.#PeopleManagement #TeamBuilding #LeadershipSkills #ManagementTips #HybridWork #PerformanceReviews #PsychologicalSafety #Coaching #Delegation #ConflictResolution #FeedbackCulture #EmployeeEngagement #FirstTimeManager #MiddleManagement #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Careers #ManagementBookClubKeep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
