"How do you recognize when it's God's power lifting you versus your own grit?" "What do you do when success and faith seem to clash?"

  • AsalamuAlikum Wa RahmatuAllahi Wa Baraktu, In 2001, Our beloved Sheikh, Sheikh-Dr. Nabil, also known as Abu-AbdulRahman founded The Islamic Heritage Center (May Allah have Mercy on his soul). Dr. Nabil established the American University for Arabic & Islamic Studies, and in the year 2010, he established the Palm Tree School. In giving religious verdicts, Sheikh Abu AbdulRahman’s Fataawa (i.e., rulings/verdicts) are based on the Manhaj of Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamaa'ah, which is evidenced from Qur'an and Sunnah, based upon the understanding of the Companions of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) and their righteous followers. Sheikh Abu AbdelRahman studied under some of the most knowledgeable scholars of his time including Shiekh Muqbil bin Haadee al-Waadi’ee, and Sheikh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Baaz (May Allah Grant them Mercy). Besides the above-mentioned scholars, as a practicing physician in Egypt and Kuwait, Sheikh Abu AbdelRahman dedicated his free time to spread the authentic knowledge of the religion of Allah, teaching Fiqh, Aqeedah, Tafseer, Seerah, Mustalah, and many other Sharee'a classes, here in the United States. May Allah grant him the highest level of Jannah and Have mercy upon his soul. Ameen

  • A weekly podcast with Professor Alister McGrath exploring C.S. Lewis’ thought, theology and teaching.

C.S. Lewis is one of the most influential voices in modern Christianity. The 20th Century British writer and lay theologian has profoundly impacted Christians around the world and brought many atheists and agnostics to faith in Jesus.

One person whose faith was greatly encouraged by the writings of C.S. Lewis is Professor Alister McGrath. Both men were raised in Northern Ireland, studied at Oxford University and went on to become professors there. They also both came to faith from atheism slightly later in life. Alister has written numerous books on C.S. Lewis, including a seminal biography C.S. Lewis – A Life.

Every Monday, Ruth Jackson and Professor Alister McGrath will reflect on C.S. Lewis’ ideas, life and influence as well as trying to answer questions that impact culture today.

  • The Cultivate Podcast is all about deepening our understanding of Scripture for a deeper love of Jesus. That’s my simple hope. Yet we live in a crazy busy culture that makes it hard to prioritize Bible study. Not to mention, for many of us the Bible can be plain confusing or intimidating. That’s why I’m so excited about this podcast! We’ll get to study God’s Word together.

Absolutely nothing has gone after every crevice of my heart like Scripture. It’s the most relevant and alive book on earth and I can’t wait for God to meet you exactly where you’re at as we open the Bible together. I also happen to love cooking, gardening, having people over, and deep relationships. So I’ll always do my best to keep it real, practical, and personal. Whether you’re brand new to the Bible or a seasoned student of Scripture, I hope you’ll join me on this hopeful journey.

    About Kelly Minter

Hi There. My name is Kelly Minter and I’m a Bible study author and teacher. I’ve written several Bible studies for Lifeway, including Finding God Faithful, All Things New, No Other Gods, Ruth, and a few others. I love to teach the Bible at my Cultivate Events across the country and also locally at my home church. I have a passion for missions, which is why I also work in the Amazon jungles of Brazil and the Eastern European country of Moldova with Justice & Mercy International. I wrote a book about my work in the Amazon called Wherever The River Runs. It’s dear to my heart. I also love cooking, gardening, and having people to my house. It turns out, I pretty much wanted to write about that too, so a cookbook called A Place at the Table was born. Mostly, I love engaging with people as we study God’s Word together, which is why I’m especially excited about the brand new Cultivate Podcast.

  • There is a question I have asked myself over and over again these last few years as I have worked hard to rebuild my life, the question is this: “how do I move forward from here?” If I’m being honest I’m still learning how to answer that question, and I know it’s a question that many of us will have to answer at some point along the way. Because the truth is, none of us are exempt from pain. So, what do we do when life doesn’t go the way we planned? What do we do when the suicide happens? What do we do when the cancer diagnosis invades our reality? What do we do when divorce tears our world apart? What do we do when our dreams are shattered? Can life really be beautiful again? How do we move forward from here?

Well my hope is that this would be a space where we can have real conversations with friends who have discovered their own answers to these questions as they have fought hard to find a way to build a beautiful life around their pain. Because if there is anything I’ve learned these last few years it’s that the pain doesn’t just go away, it moves forward with us. And as that same confusing, indescribable, knot in our stomach pain settles into our reality our job isn’t to try run away from it, or numb it, or get rid of it, our job is to discover how build a beautiful life around it.

And I truly believe that this will be a safe space where we can be inspired to do just that. These conversations will be powerful, inspiring, full of hope, and really helpful and I am so excited to lean in, learn, and grow as we rebuild beautiful together. Let’s chase after it! There is so much more ahead, I can’t wait!
