In ancient Israel, during the time of the Judges, a dark age has descended. The men of the twelve Hebrew tribes have abandoned their God, and have failed to stand against their enemies for years.
A farmer named Shamgar learns that an army of Philistines is invading the valley where he lives peacefully with his family. As they approach, determined to destroy everything in their path, Shamgar must try to convince a frightened population to stand with him in the last place the Philistines can be stopped: a mountain pass known as the Boundary of Blood. -

Welcome to Guided Prayer, a daily companion through the church year from Grace Pasadena.
These brief times of prayer follow a simple rhythm drawn from historic Christian worship — Scripture, confession, intercession, and blessing — helping us slow down and become attentive to God’s presence in the middle of ordinary life. The goal isn’t to say perfect words, but to let steady habits of prayer quietly shape our trust, our attention, and our love over time.
You can listen in the morning, at the end of the day, or whenever you need a moment to pause and return to God.
Episodes begin Monday, February 23rd, following the first Sunday of Lent. The Scripture readings come from the Revised Common Lectionary daily readings, and you can download a copy of Grace Pasadena’s prayer guide in the show notes if you’d like to follow along.
We’re glad you’re here. -

This is a podcast about seasonal change, human festivals and what connects us.Hello! I'm Lucy. I'm on a journey through the seasonal year and you're invited! After discovering the wheel of the year and deciding I wanted to build a spirituality that was linked to nature, I wanted to learn about all the ways in which humans from all different cultures have done just that. This podcast is the result: a mixture of folklore, science, found sounds and reflection. Join me as I explore the festivals, nature and themes of each point in the year, and share thoughts on life and meaning that are both intimate and expansive. Written and produced by Lucy Imogen.
