Peu de gens connaissent le géant Alois. C’est normal : il n’aime pas attirer l’attention. Il mène une vie tranquille avec son chien Pompon, dans le paisible village de Heimeralz. Impressionnant, il l’est pourtant, comme peuvent en témoigner les habitants : Quand on a un géant pour voisin, une cloche d’église est bien vite réparée et une piscine publique se creuse d’un seul coup de pelle ! Alois est apprécié de tous… surtout de la jeune Mamzel. Elle adore son géant qui - grâce à son grand cerveau - l’aide à faire ses devoirs. Mais un jour, à sa grande, sa géante stupéfaction, Alois commence à rétrécir. Inquiet et désemparé, il s’enferme chez lui et ne donne plus signe de vie. Toutefois Mamzel et ses autres amis ne l'oublient pas de sitôt : car, aussi petit soit-il devenu, Alois garde une immense place dans leur cœur.
Le Géant qui rétrécit est une fable émouvante sur les maladies neuro-évolutives, le chemin difficile de l’acceptation et la force d’être porté par les autres. Avec les voix de Marc Weiss, Patrick Ridremont, Ludivine Deworst, Nathalie Uffner, Damien Gillard, Philippe Allard et quelques coopérateurs de Cera.

Weinig mensen kennen de reus Alois. Dat is normaal. Hij komt niet graag onder de aandacht. Hij leeft zijn leventje, samen met zijn hondje Pompon in het vredige dorpje Heimeralz. Indrukwekkend is hij wel, dat kunnen de dorpsbewoners beamen, want met zo’n reus als buur, is een kerkklok sneller hersteld en een openbaar zwembad sneller gegraven. Hij is graag gezien door iedereen, maar nog het meest door Mamzel. Die is dol op haar reus, en met zijn grote hersens wil hij haar al wel eens helpen met haar huiswerk. Maar op een dag begint Alois tot zijn buitenproportionele verbazing te krimpen. Het maakt hem onzeker en verward, en van zodra het ook de dorpsbewoners begint op te vallen, sluit hij zich op en laat niets meer van zich horen. Maar dat laten Mamzel en zijn andere vrienden niet gebeuren, want hoe zeer hij ook gekrompen is, Alois blijft zo groot als een heel dorp.
De krimpende reus is een ontroerend luisterverhaal over dementie, de aanvaarding en de kracht van gedragen worden door anderen. Met de stemmen van Dimitri Leue, Koen De Graeve, Jennifer Heylen, Ini Massez, Carry Goossens, Tom Audenaert en enkele Cera-vennoten.
