Die Aktionen der Klimaschutzgruppierung Letzte Generation polarisieren. Selbst unter Befürwortern einer aktiven Klimaschutzpolitik sind die Aktionsformen sowie die Ziele der Letzten Generation höchst umstritten. Verkehrsbehinderungen sowie das Verunstalten von Denk- und Mahnmälern oder von Kunstwerken finden in der Bevölkerung nur geringes Verständnis und beeinflussen mitunter den Alltag von tausenden Menschen. Dabei laufen die Debatten um die Gruppierung und ihre Aktionen bisweilen aus dem Ruder, wenn beispielsweise von einer „Klima-RAF“ die Rede ist oder Autofahrer/-innen körperliche Gewalt gegen die Mitglieder der Letzten Generation anwenden. Auch die Rechtsprechung changiert noch zwischen strengen Verurteilungen der Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten und Freisprüchen für vergleichbare Aktionen.
Der Podcast erläutert die unterschiedlichen Positionen in den Debatten um Klimaaktivismus und hinterfragt sie kritisch. Die drei Folgen widmen sich dem Ursprung und der Organisationsform der Letzten Generation, der juristischen Debatte um ihre Handlungen und der weiteren Entwicklung der Gruppe. Erstellt und produziert wurde der Podcast im Auftrag der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb von den beiden Journalisten Hendrik Schröder und Christof Schrag. -
