Endymion is the largest work by John Keats and was composed between April and November 1817. When it was published in April 1818 the critical reception was almost universally hostile. Since that time, many readers have found the poem dense and inaccessible, and have preferred to focus on the occasional gems of poetic commentary for which it has become famous. Feeling that the poem was both undervalued and misunderstood, in 1919 Professor Clement Notcutt published a lengthy essay, which could be considered a “user’s guide” to Endymion. He sums up his intent in the introduction: A careful study of Endymion made some ten years ago led to the conclusion that there was more of allegorical significance in the poem than had hitherto been recognised, but the effort to trace that significance was only partially successful. Further study since that time has gradually opened up the way to the interpretation that is worked out in the following pages. It is probable that there are details in the story the meaning of which still lies hidden, but it may at least be hoped that enough has been discovered to win for the poem its rightful place among the not very numerous examples in English poetry of well-wrought allegory. Lady Duff-Gordon had tuberculosis, and went to Egypt for her health. This collection of her personal letters to her mother and her husband. By all accounts everyone loved her, and the letters are very personal in style and content. The letters are as much an introduction to her person as a record of her life on the Upper Nile.

The Law Against Lovers was a dramatic adaptation of Shakespeare, arranged by Sir William Davenant and staged by the Duke's Company in 1662. It was the first of the many Shakespearean adaptations staged during the Restoration era. Davenant was not shy about changing the Bard's work; he based his text on Measure for Measure, but also added Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing — "resulting in a bizarre and fascinating combination." He made Angelo from the former play, and Benedick from the latter, into brothers. سیالکتیک یعنی چی؟ یعنی دیالکتیک سه نفره که گاهی سیاه میشه و گاهی قهوهای، گاهی هم رگههای سیاسی اجتماعی پیدا میکنه. ما سه نفر دور هم میشینیم، اما نه برای گپ زدنهای دمدستی. موضوعهامون از همون سوالهای ساده شروع میشه؛ همونهایی که همه توی ذهنشون دارن و شاید بارها از خودشون پرسیدن. چرا ما به آینده فکر میکنیم؟ چرا آدمها عاشق میشن؟ خوشبختی یعنی چی؟ مرگ چه معنایی داره؟
اما ما این سوالها رو سطحی رد نمیکنیم. هر بار، مثل سه تا معدنچی میریم توی لایههای مختلف فلسفه، روانشناسی، جامعهشناسی، علم و حتی تجربههای شخصی تا ببینیم پشت هر "سادهترین" سوال چه اعماقی خوابیده.
این پادکست نه سخنرانی دانشگاهیه، نه گپ بیهدف دوستانه؛ یه جستجوست برای پیدا کردن جوابهای چندوجهی، دقیق و گاهی حتی متناقض به سوالاتی که همهمون باهاش درگیریم.
اگر دنبال حرفهای سبک و کلیشهای نیستی و دوست داری ذهنت رو به چالش بکشی، اینجا همون جاییه که میتونه هر بار یه پنجره تازه رو بهت نشون بده. در واقع ما متوجه شدیم که خیلی وقتها سعی داریم با سادهسازی پروندهی مباحث رو ببندیم. انگار از عمیق شدن و پیچیده شدن هراس داریم و این در حالیه که هر روز با پیشرفت انواع علوم، مرتبا متوجه میشیم همه چی خیلی پیچیدهتر و چند لایهتر از اونه که ما فکرش رو میکردیم.
ما سوالات خیلی زیادی در ذهن داریم اما اگر شما هم سوالی دارید که دوست دارید به این شکل بهش پاسخ داده بشه حتما برای ما بفرستید.
