Can you eat fruit with diabetes? Fruit is often seen to contain lots of sugar and carbs, so many people are afraid to eat them. So, what’s the truth on this?Yes, moving to plant-based eating can help your body in so many ways, like lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and even weight loss. But since you’ll be eating more carbs like fruits and whole grains, won’t that make your glucose levels go ‘through the roof’ and worsen your diabetes? If that’s what you’re worried about, let’s talk about it. In this episode, I’ll show you that yes, you CAN have your fruit and eat it…and research is showing that there can even be benefits to your blood sugars by including them in your meals. There’s also a secret factor that you may not be aware of which can have an even bigger impact on blood sugar levels. Learn more inside this episode!

This episode is a heartfelt celebration of part-time yoga teachers!
Too often, we hear part-time teachers being self-deprecating and implying that they don't feel like "real" yoga teachers.
So, we put out a call on social media for part-time yoga teachers to share your stories -- we asked you why you teach part-time, what keeps you going, and what the challenges are. We culled through the responses and share the highlights in this episode. The stories are inspiring and converge on a simple, yet powerful, truth: Part-time teachers make an invaluable contribution to the yoga community.

Learn 10 Core Competencies with lots of 1-1 support from me in the Quietmind Yoga Teacher Training. Learn more at https://www.quietmind.yoga/ytt
In this episode of the Yoga Teacher Training Podcast, I’m sharing the five most common causes of yoga injuries—and how you can avoid them. Injuries can sneak up on anyone, whether you’re a teacher or a practitioner, but they don’t have to. Yoga is about feeling good, strong, flexible, and balanced—not dealing with tweaks or strains that could’ve been prevented.
I’ll talk about real-life examples, like the mistake I’ve made (and learned from) of demoing poses without warming up first, the risks of jumping from one extreme range of motion to another, and why listening to your body is the most important skill you can develop. You’ll also hear my thoughts on why yoga isn’t about pushing to your limit or performing—it’s about creating a practice that supports you today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
If you’re ready to take your practice deeper or teach yoga in a way that supports your students’ growth and safety, join the waitlist for my Quietmind Yoga Teacher Training at quietmind.yoga/ytt. Do you know how long we as humans have had this long relationship with wheat - when I did some research - our relationship with wheat began more than 10000 years back - think about this - it almost goes back to as old as Ayurveda.
According to the recent article by Allied Market Research the gluten free snack industry was estimated at $843.6 million in 2021, and is set to reach $1.8 billion by 2031 globally.
Why is our loyalty towards wheat shifting - why are we in such a hurry to ditch this relationship that stood the time for thousands of years and made us who we are today? Why, what might be the reason? More importantly what does the scientific wisdom of Ayurveda tell us about wheat and gluten free grains?
The topics covered in this episode -
1) When to eat and when not to eat gluten free grains
2) What season is more beneficial to incorporate gluten free diet
3) How to access each dosha to the gluten free properties and make an informed decision when and when not to be gluten free
4) Which dosha suffers the most when one goes gluten free and why
5) What is Wheat from the lens of Ayurveda and also briefly touch on the history and traditions of wheat in the Indian culture

Self-care is essential for yoga teachers - but easier said than done. In the fast pace of modern culture, our role has partly become a cheerleader for self-care. Yet, many of us live with life circumstances that cause us to neglect our own self-care. In this week’s episode of the podcast I demystify the idea of self-care and offer a simple way of thinking about it that will help you understand how to implement it in your own life.
A simple way of describing self-care from a yoga perspective.A review of the structure and function of the human nervous system and how it relates to self care. Why understanding the nervous system is helpful for yoga teachers. How the modern self-care movement oversimplifies self care and portrays it in a misleading and potentially harmful way. Additional ways to think about and practice self care that are more effective and accessible. How to talk about self care with your yoga students. -
