In this moment, ex-chief business officer for Google X, Mo Gawdat asks the question, ‘what are the illusions that you are living under’? Mo believes, that for all of us, our view of reality is an illusion, and this can often become limiting or imprisoning. Too often this viewpoint of reality can lead to an identity you form that you feel that you have to stick with and cannot break away from. Furthermore, Mo says that for a lot of people, inner conflict comes when your actions don’t match with the inner feelings you have, so you don’t feel as if you’re fully complete. To overcome this, Mo says that we need to find balance within ourselves and that this balance can be broken down to smaller, more manageable sections that you can improve on every single day, as ultimately, this search for inner balance is a constant journey.

Historiquement connu pour la série Total War, le studio britannique Creative Assembly s’est néanmoins autorisé quelques pas de côté avec son équipe console, responsable de cet Alien: Isolation. Dans cette adaptation très fidèle au film de Ridley Scott, nous nous retrouvons à devoir fuir une station isolée et évidemment envahie par un xénomorphe implacable. L’occasion de faire de nombreux allers-retours dans des niveaux labyrinthiques, tout en essayant d’éviter une intelligence artificielle tenace, qui fait encore office de référence dans l’industrie par sa complexité et son imprévisibilité. Un jeu radical, par ses choix mécaniques et esthétiques, qui inspirera d’autres grands noms de l’horreur vidéoludique comme Resident Evil. Dans l’espace, personne ne vous entendra bidouiller des interfaces.

Cette semaine, on commence par grimper en silence une montagne immense dans le nouveau jeu du studio français DontNod. Grâce à un système d'escalade bien pensé et à un design élégant, Jusant n’a aucun mal à nous emmener avec lui. On continue dans une toute autre ambiance avec la nouvelle production de Remedy, Alan Wake 2. L’écrivain maudit est de retour dans une mise en scène assez époustouflante. On termine avec Headbangers, le jeu de rythme en mode battle royale du studio Glee-Cheese. C’est rythmé et entraînant, mais on se demande si ça suffira pour suivre les traces de son modèle Fall Guys.

En premier lieu, c'est la renaissance des Third Song ; pour une saison du moins, à raison d'un épisode tous les deux mois.
Dans sa nouvelle mue, Third Song restera une sélection musicale d'une heure environ. Entre Space X, Tesla et ses autres projets, Elon Musk, ne ferait-il pas de la science-fiction ?
Le journaliste scientifique Olivier Lascar qui vient de publier son essai : Enquête sur Elon Musk, l'homme qui défie la science aux éditions Alisio vient analyser tous les visages d'Elon Musk ainsi que ses différents projets.
Il n’est pas auteur de science-fiction, mais ses projets futuristes rendent hommage à la SF.
Elon Musk irrite et fascine ! Le sud africain né en 1971 ne cesse de faire parler de lui que ce soit à travers son envie d’ envoyer des fusées dans l’espace, de racheter twitter, ou encore de promouvoir le bitcoin. Une personnalité qui agace autant qu’il séduit. Qualifié de «bourrin transhumaniste » par Alain Damasio ou plus récemment de transphobe par la communauté LGBT pour sa remarque sur les pronoms, Musk est loin de faire l'unanimité et pourtant c’est un phénomène médiatique. Preuve de sa notoriété, il fait même une apparition dans Iron Man 2.
Se prenant pour un Tony Stark moderne, le magna de la tech essaye de réaliser les grands fantasmes de la science-fiction. Entre son envie de développer le tourisme spatial, le voyage sur Mars, la connexion entre le cerveau et les ordinateurs, Elon Musk participe à nourrir un imaginaire et pourquoi pas à faire lui-même de la science-fiction à coup de millions de dollars. Nous reviendrons avec le journaliste Olivier Lascar sur son rapport à la science et nous essayerons de comprendre son idéologie ainsi que sa vision du monde. Elon Musk ne serait-il pas plutôt un super vilain ?

L'Etoile Noire avant Star Wars !
Avant Halloween et Assault, le maître de l'horreur John Carpenter a commencé sa carrière avec du space opera. Dark Star est initialement un moyen métrage de fin d'étude réalisé par John Carpenter et Dan O'Bannon (le futur papa d'Alien qui trouvera son inspiration dans ce projet). Alors que le cinéma de science-fiction connaît un âge d'or depuis la sortie de 2001 Odyssées de L'Espace, les deux étudiants de l'University of Southern California décident de faire une réponse humoristique au chef d'œuvre de Kubrick. Cette comédie foutraque, mettant en scène des précaires du cosmos, se fera pourtant dans la douleur. Il faudra deux ans à John Carpenter pour finaliser ce projet tout en se brouillant avec son ami et co-scénariste Dan O'Bannon sur fond de conflit juridique avec son établissement universitaire. Lancé modestement dans les salles américaines en 1974, Dark Star aura du mal à trouver son public. Le faux rythme du film ainsi que ses séquences burlesques ou ses propos politiques en font un OVNI cinématographique, il sera avec le temps considéré comme une œuvre culte.
