But who is Richard Tufton?! We are delighted to introduce Richard Tufton as the presenter for the Six Inches of Soil Podcast. He has been a supporter of Six Inches of Soil since the start and has helped us navigate some of the tougher topics in food production.

Richard has a vast amount of experience in this sector, completing an agricultural degree at Newcastle University and working in the food sector for more than 20 years, initially in the UK, then for the last 9 years in the United States. During this time, he has become more and more determined to do good, growing a passion for regenerative farming and recently joining Gabe Brownโ€™s team at Regenified.

We are overjoyed to be working with Richard. As he is based in Austin, Texas, he will bring together guests from both sides of the pond, creating a unique podcast and important conversations that will dig into the full food supply chain, and perhaps challenge things you currently know and believe. Tune in and share your thoughts on all our various topics via instagram @sixinchesofsoil. Canโ€™t wait for you to join us!

  • MiddleMarch by George Eliot

Middlemarch by George Eliot is a sweeping novel set in a fictional English town during the early 19th century. It follows the lives of various residents, centering on Dorothea Brooke, an idealistic young woman whose pursuit of intellectual and moral fulfillment leads to personal and social conflicts. Dorothea marries the elderly scholar Casaubon, hoping to find purpose, but discovers his motives are less noble. Her life intertwines with other characters, including the ambitious Dr. Lydgate, whose medical career faces hurdles, and Rosamond Vincy, who struggles with her own aspirations. Through rich character studies and intricate social commentary, the novel explores themes of ambition, morality, and societal constraints, offering a nuanced portrait of provincial life and human striving.
