  • The City of Los Angeles is getting some relief as “Particularly Dangerous Situation” warnings expired midweek and firefighters are gaining ground on the destructive Palisades and Eaton fires. At least twenty four people are dead, over 40,000 acres have been burned and more than twelve thousand structures have been destroyed or damaged with over eighty thousand resident still under evacuation orders. The investigation into the cause wildfires very start is going on and talk already has begun about what was learned and what new preventative measures could be put in place to mitigate future fires.

  • Israel and Hamas look to have agreed to a cease-fire deal that should ensure the release of the remaining hostages held in terror tunnels in Gaza. The agreement says thirty three hostages are expected to be released in weekly batches over the next six weeks along with a pause in fighting.   • Ryan Corbett, an American businessman, moved to Afghanistan in 2010 with his family and became actively involved in the community. In August 2022, he, along with several others, was captured and detained by the Taliban after returning to the Middle East to renew his business visa and pay his employees.
