An active search and rescue operation continues after Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge was struck by a freighter in the middle of the night causing the bridge span to collapse. A federal appeals court blocked a Texas law that would allow the state’s own law enforcement to arrest migrants suspected of illegally crossing the border, a decision that came just hours after the Supreme Court ruled the bill could take effect. This state immigration law, S.B. 4, has two key parts: it would make illegal crossings a Class B misdemeanor and would require state judges to order migrants convicted of crossing to return to Mexico.
