America is facing a silent AND growing epidemic: the Adderall crisis. The use of this stimulant (and its generics) has exploded from 35.5 million prescriptions in 2019 to 45 million in 2022. But these numbers only scratch the surface. The DEA warns we're on the brink of our next drug crisis. America is facing a silent AND growing epidemic: the Adderall crisis. The use of this stimulant (and its generics), known by street names like A-Train, Addy, Amps, Christmas Trees, Co-Pilots, Lid Poppers, Smarties, Study Buddies, and Study Skittles has exploded from 35.5 million prescriptions in 2019 to 45 million in 2022. But these numbers only scratch the surface. A dangerous black market has emerged, flooding streets with counterfeit pills indistinguishable from the real thing. Users, often unaware, risk their lives with every dose. Even legitimate prescriptions carry significant dangers. The DEA warns we're on the brink of our next drug crisis. With 5-6 million Americans using Adderall without proper diagnosis and one in four teens in some schools abusing prescription stimulants, we're watching a new generation spiral into un-prescribed/unneeded use and addiction.

With his execution halted, will Robert Roberson finally have a chance at justice as new evidence, legislative allies, and a growing public outcry push for a retrial? Robert Roberson, who was set to be executed on October 17, 2024, for the 2002 death of his 2-year-old daughter Nikki, was granted a last-minute stay by the Texas Supreme Court. This unexpected reprieve followed a subpoena from Texas lawmakers requesting Roberson’s testimony before the House Criminal Justice Committee. Roberson’s conviction heavily relied on the now-disputed "shaken baby syndrome" diagnosis, but new evidence suggests Nikki’s death may have resulted from natural causes, like pneumonia. Both the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals previously declined to intervene, and the Supreme Court’s decision has sparked debate over the balance of power between Texas’s legislative and judicial branches. The case has drawn national attention, bolstered by support from Dr. Phil, who testified before the Texas Legislature on Roberson’s behalf. The debate has also reignited scrutiny of forensic evidence standards and Texas’s 2013 "junk science" law as lawmakers and courts reconsider Roberson’s fate. Dr. Phil speaks with Terre, a 2003 juror from Roberson’s trial who now believes in his innocence, stating she wasn’t presented with all the evidence. Roberson’s attorney, Gretchen Sween, insists that, despite opposition from the Attorney General’s office, he deserves a new trial. In support, Representatives Joe Moody (D), Lacey Hull (R), and Brian Harrison (R) have joined forces in a bipartisan coalition advocating for clemency and a retrial. Former Los Angeles prosecutor and news anchor Loni Coombs argues that if the Attorney General is confident in Roberson’s guilt, they should welcome a retrial to resolve lingering doubts once and for all.

From cats running on treadmills to monkey’s gambling, these are just some of the shocking ways the government is wasting YOUR money. Dr. Phil takes a hard-hitting look at the outrageous and often ludicrous spending of your tax dollars by our government. With national debt exceeding $34 trillion, the government's spending habits seem more reckless than ever, including $2.7 million on cats running on treadmills and $1.8 million on monkeys gambling. These examples are just a few of the questionable expenditures adding up to trillions of dollars, money that comes directly from the pockets of everyday Americans like you—small business owners, government employees, and hardworking citizens. Dr. Phil is joined by Tareka, a small business owner who says she needs money from the government to continue, but can’t get it, and Venisi, a three-time combat veteran who says that despite his service to the country he could not secure a loan for his small business. Also weighing in is Dr. Monica Crowley, Ph.D., former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs, who warns against social programs and small business spending as a threat to the nation's future, and Adam Andrzejewsk, a government watchdog who say the government needs to be held accountable for every penny it spends. Additionally, we hear from Ginger, a military spouse forced to rely on food banks during the government shutdown, and Calvin, a long-time government employee burdened by inefficient mandated purchasing practices. Together with audience guests who bring diverse perspectives, they debate a critical problem impacting us all.

Part 2: Dr. Phil goes to the Arizona and Texas borders looking for solutions. We are just a few days away from the 2024 election and there’s one topic that’s got everyone from Washington to Main Street talking…the border crisis. Both sides agree that work needs to be done to secure our southern border.
Dr. Phil first heads to Arizona to find out why there is a super-highway for illegal crossings down there. It’s been nicknamed the "Smuggler's Highway" …right on Interstate 10, which runs through California and Arizona. It’s become the most popular route for smugglers from Mexico. But Sheriff’s deputies in Pinal County, say it isn’t just cartels smuggling migrants…it’s American teenagers. Right in the thick of it all, Sheriff Mark Lamb says the drugs and people being trafficked through this "highway" are ending up in cities all across America. In fiscal year 2023 alone, Arizona had more than 775,000 illegal border crossers. That's a whole lot of people slipping through the cracks.
Sheriff Lamb tells Dr. Phil how he attempts to wrangle this situation. Plus Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels tells Dr. Phil that in the last 31 months, there have been 500 to 600 pursuits coming through his rural county. Dr. Phil talks to the Vice President of the Border Agent Council, Art Del Cueto, who says the media is not reporting much about Arizona’s border issues. Art says he has solutions if anyone would listen. And we head to Eagle Pass Texas where Dr. Phil spoke to several people working on the frontlines. He asked them THE hard questions that you won’t see anywhere else. And US Southern Border Expert, Jason Jones says human trafficking at the border is the largest US intelligence failure since 9-11. If you are looking for answers to your questions about the border, this episode has the answers. For more information: https://drphilpodcasts.com

Dr. Phil goes on a drive-along with Sheriffs on Arizona’s “Smuggler’s Highway”. This border situation has become a political powder keg, with both sides of the aisle using it as ammunition in this upcoming election in just a few weeks. But tonight, we’re focusing on the Arizona border.
With 378 miles of shared border with Mexico, divided into the Tucson and Yuma sectors, Dr. Phil meets up with Sheriff Mark Lamb who offers to take him on a “drive-along” on that stretch of road where high-speed chases happen every day putting everyone on the road at risk. And sometimes, it ends tragically. Take the story of Wanda Sitoski. Her daughter, Valarie sits down with Dr. Phil to talk about how her mother’s life was cut short when a 16-year-old American smuggler running from the law crashed right into her…killing her instantly. And Dr. Phil meets Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels who says he and his team are trying to protect 6219 square miles of rugged terrain. Plus our camera crew goes on a dangerous chase with Sheriff Dannels Interdiction Team. More information: https://drphilpodcast.comThank you to our sponsor:

We’re leaving behind organized religion in shocking numbers. In 1988, 17% of Americans said they never attended religious services. By 2021, this almost doubled to 31%. Church membership in the US has dropped below 50% for the first time in history. Even as the population grows, somewhere between 6,000 & 10,000 churches close down every year. Listen in as Dr. Phil and his guests delve into the hot topic of religion’s shifting role in today’s society. They unpack the societal impacts, share relatable stories of feeling disconnected from traditional practices, and brainstorm innovative ways for religious institutions to stay relevant in the modern age.
The conversation balances the proven community perks of religious involvement with candid tales of disillusionment and hypocrisy that drive some away from organized faith. It’s a deep dive into navigating faith in the 21st century, blending hard data with personal insights, and spotlighting the urgent need for religious institutions to evolve while staying true to their core spiritual values.
