  • Homeschool parents jump into homeschooling with high hopes and expectations and an "ignorance is bliss" mentality. And there is nothing wrong with that. That was totally me.

But, along the way, as the years go by, we grow in knowledge and experience about how to home educate.

Today's episode is me pulling back the curtain and showing you some of the things that I wish I had done differently. Yes, our missteps grow us into the homeschool mom we need to be. But, these are the 10 things I wish someone had shared with me when I began researching homeschool over 13 years ago. If I had known about these things much earlier, I would have become a more confident and enjoyable homeschool mom sooner.

Each decision can be reactive and made in a fly by the seat of your pants manner or you can choose intentionality. But what does that look like in your motherhood, homeschool, and homemaking?

Well, it kind of is since you are now providing for your children's education and have little people who rely upon you 24/7.

What should a homeschool mom do when faced with little and big interruptions, life events, tragedies, and all that occurs in between? What happens to those homeschool plans? Where does the curriculum fit in?

Whether this describes a current situation in your life, you're trying to get back on your feet again, or you want to be prepared for the next event, this is the episode for you.

  • Even with millions more homeschoolers this year than ever before, what you are doing is still seen as counter-cultural. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of people and things calling you to focus your heart and time elsewhere.

Along with the decision to homeschool came the decision to focus on raising your children and creating the family that reflects your values and goals. But it's really easy to get sidetracked with "shiny objects" calling for your devotion.

But what if you truly make homeschooling and the lifestyle that encircles that and motherhood your most important priority? What would your life look like? And what would the ripple effect be?

After 20 years of making raising my children a priority, I have a few thoughts that I'd love to share with you in hopes that it encourages and gives you the determination to look at these years differently.
