Spelade

  • This week we welcome Historian, Author and host of the Condensed Histories Podcast Jem Duducu who joins Paul and Kyle to rant that we just don't treat the Crusades with enough attention to detail.

He talks to Paul and Kyle about how the last Crusade was as late as the 1930s, how some Crusades were Christian against Christian and how some even had Christians and Muslims fighting on the same side.

In short, the Crusades are a lot more than just heading off to the Middle east to kick in some Muslims.

  • This week we welcome Historian of religion and belief, award winning author and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Dr. Francis Young who joins us to rage that Medieval Paganism didn't go underground in the Middle Ages.

He talks to Paul and Kyle about how the 'Green Man' is invented in the 1930s, how Christianity is just as weird as anything Paganism might offer and how clinging to this myth is actually damaging our understanding of religion and the medieval period.

If you'd like to know more about this subject then why not buy a copy of one of his books from the History Rage Bookshop.
