  • In this episode, I speak with my wonderful Brazilian friend and happiness ally, Sandra Teschner. Sandra is an author, businesswoman, publisher, speaker, and certified Chief Happiness Officer.

Sandra radiates a contagious joy and embodies the dancing, singing, laughing, and sharing spirit of Brazil. She changed her near-death experience into a driving force toward understanding what it means to be happy. Her social work with children with multiple amputations and serious diseases has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people. Sandra and those children greatly inspire me.

    Listen as Sandra shares:

How Brazilians casually handle pandemicsThe epiphany learned from her unique, pink-lit near-death experienceHow the smiles of poverty-stricken amputees are evidence that happiness is a choiceThe curative power of dancing

  • Welcome to the first episode of Slo Mo. I'm your host, Mo Gawdat, and I'm so grateful to have you with me.

I never expected to launch my podcast in the middle of a global pandemic, but I felt compelled to explore the bright side of the COVID-19 crisis with some of my wisest friends.
My guest on today's show is the embodiment of wisdom and calmness. Thupten Jinpa Langri is an author, Tibetan Buddhist scholar, Founder of Compassion Institute, and former monk who has been the principal English translator for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama since 1985.

In this episode, Thupten Jinpa and I discuss:

Preparing your mind to be in quarantine for the long haul while offering insights on keeping anxiety at bayCultivating the moral discipline needed to maintain social distancing measuresThe emergence of a new wave of compassion that we owe to this invisible enemy.

This is the first episode in our series: Silver Linings.
