1985- Bernice Courtemanche and Ellen Fried are abducted by the Valley Killer from Claremont, New Hampshire. Bernice is hitchhiking in Claremont, New Hampshire. Ellen is talking to her sister on a payphone in Claremont. Both victims are at or near Leo's Market. Is the killer using Leo's to stalk his next victim?

Her body is found a few weeks later in the woods of Unity, New Hampshire. But Betsy might have grabbed a piece of evidence that will break her case wide open.
