Fyrst segir frá kuðungum sem Halldóra bar yfir hálfan hnöttinn. Fermingar ber á góma en hvorki Steinunn né Halldóra fermdust og þess vegna kannski er þetta podcast þeirra svona undarlegt. Er náttúrutrúin það merkilegasta sem við Íslendingar eigum í menningu okkar? Það finnst Steinunni. Halldóra segir frá óvanalegum uppeldisaðferðum þar sem hún hræddi börn sín til varkárni með tröllum. Í dag ætlum við að heimsækja Bodmin fangelsið í UK sem nú er búið að breyta í hótel! Svo ef það eru einhverjir að fara að ferðast þangaðí sumar þá mælum við klárlega með því að þið bókið ykkur herbergi þarna! En eitt hótelherbergi er samansett af þremur gömlum fangaklefum.
Fangelsið hóf starfsemi sína árið 1779 og það má segja að þetta hafi verið eitt af fyrstu nútíma fagelsum Englands. Það var byggt út frá hugmyndafræði John Howards sem taldi að einangrun, erfið vinna, og trúrækni væri það sem þyrfti til að siðbæta og endurhæfa afbrotamenn. Þetta eru klárlega ekki hugmyndir sem við myndum miða við í dag.....
