THE ANDALUCIA - we began with Captain Arthur Morstan. We would end in the Captain's Cabin of The Andalucia. Quite how we got here, quite how this all ended, is still unsettled and unformed in my mind and my heart. We thought we had broken The Sign of Four. We thought we had silenced them in capturing Jonathan Small. We were wrong. I'm sorry.

NOT TO BE SNIFFED AT - our new companion Toby was onto something. The search was opening up, taking us out of Hounslow and into neighbouring Twickenham and Strawberry Hill... But in order to track down the Four we had to look elsewhere. The search site wasn't where, but when. Only in revisiting my edit did things fall into place.

Comedy writer Armando Iannucci and journalist Helen Lewis decode the utterly baffling world of political language.
Following Louise Haigh's resignation and Matt Gaetz's withdrawal from his Attorney General nomination, both said they were 'becoming a distraction', so Helen and Armando dig into the language of the political resignation. Looking at interesting resignations through history, Helen also codifies the archetypes of political resignations, and Armando tells us about seeing a high-profile sacking in real time.
Listen to Strong Message Here every Thursday at 9.45am on Radio 4 and then head straight to BBC Sounds for an extended episode.
We have a listener mailbag special coming up, so if you have any correspondence for Helen and Armando, email them to us at [email protected]

As the government debates a new bill covering how AI has to abide by copyright laws, is it better for creative industries to keep their friends close but enemies closer?
Sephora, Drunk Elephant, Sol de Janeiro are at the front of what some have called an epidemic amongst 'tweens' (pre-teens). These beauty and skincare brands are often pushed by influencers but what does it tell us about modern advertising and commercialism.
Finally Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has upset the TV industry after attacking a lack of creativity and diversity. Do her points have merit or is it misplaced and is she simply looking to score some easy points?

In as early as 5000 BC the vast and spectacular city of Uruk - replete with towering walls, glistening temples and complex irrigation systems - lay sprawled across the face of Southern Mesopotamia. Not only is Uruk the oldest city in the world, but it is arguably one of the most consequential, having facilitated one of the great turning points of human civilisation. Here, in this mysterious metropolis lay the origins of urbanisation, making Uruk the predecessor and antecedent of every modern city today. It was the cradle of formidable trading networks, sophisticated craftsmanship, agricultural prosperity, the earliest examples of writing, and even home to the very first person in human history to be named. Yet, by 700 AD this once great wonder of the ancient world had been abandoned, leaving nothing behind but haunting ruins and two burning questions: firstly, how did this marvel of urbanisation come to exist, and secondly, what led to its ruin? Was it colonisation, climate change, or conquest…?
Join Tom and Dominic as they discuss Uruk, the first city in the whole of world history and the mother of modern urbanisation, revealing the remarkable tale of its discovery, its mysterious origins, and equally enigmatic decline.

It is one of the most pivotal inventions in human history - the wheel.
New research suggests that the wheel was first created by prehistoric miners in the Carpathian Mountains to transport copper. Tristan Hughes speaks to the team behind this fascinating theory; archaeologist Dr Richard Bulliet, and computational engineer Dr Kai James. They take a fascinating journey through ancient innovations and cutting-edge science to reveal when the wheel was first created and by who - questions that have fascinated historians for decades, if not centuries.
Presented by Tristan Hughes. The producer and audio editor is Joseph Knight, the senior producer is Anne-Marie Luff.

As Masterchef’s Gregg Wallace faces a stream of allegations about inappropriate behaviour at work, Nish and Coco take on the entertainment industry’s toxic culture. Nish gives an insider’s view of why change is long overdue in an industry that enables massive egos, bad behaviour, even abuse. And Coco argues that to take women’s safety seriously we need to start with zero tolerance on bullying banter.
Meanwhile, Keir Starmer’s reset this week promises to focus on working people’s priorities but is this going to deliver results. And is Labour missing a trick? Journalist Zoë Grünewald on why the government needs a big vision for young people.
And with Reform UK support on the rise and soaring youth unemployment, is the left in danger of losing young voters to the right? Jacob Diggle of UK Youth joins us with solutions to get young people into work or study.
