This is our third story submitted by Untold Tales author, Hal Fulton! Fulton is a software developer in real life; he has two degrees in computer science and is the author of "The Ruby Way". His passions are reading, writing, music, art, and theatre. He lives in Austin, Texas, in a condo located directly above the center of the Earth. His hobbies include live music and passing counterfeit bills to tourists. His short stories have been rejected by some of the finest magazines in the country.

Edna Del Toro is a loving mother and friend to all who meet her. She is still caring for her own mother, who is currently 93 years young and a proud Boriqua (Puerto Rican) who encourages EVERYONE she meets to learn to speak Spanish.
Edna is beloved by everyone she meets and a devoted Nichirin Buddhist. She chants "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" in an effort to further kosen rufu (world peace) and her own happiness, as well as the happiness of everyone around her. She was a devoted teacher in the Pittsburgh Public School system her entire 40 year career. But secretly, she has a passion for writing, reading and photography. One of the BIGGEST supporters of the Untold Tales podcast, we are excited to share her creative writing talents with you. This story is based off a very vivid dream that she had one April morning in 2023. Her eldest daughter (me) encouraged her to write it down and flesh it out. Thank you, Don, for supporting my mom with your marvelous storytelling talent.

"I was born. I’m told I was very little. Had to grow, but did so by tearing around the neighborhood crashing into things (trees can be tricky) or acting like each baseball game (or any game, for that matter) was a "winner take all" epic. And by reading. Plenty of short stories, particularly those in "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Boy's Life." Also comic books, tons and tons of comic books, along with science fiction by the truckloads. And anything else I could find, from "Newsweek" and "Reader's Digest" to "Highlights" and the encyclopedia. Started writing at 12, have kept at it since. Not as prolific as I like, but then again, whose fault is that? I say the trees, who have a record of 11-0 against me. On the other hand, my stories have appeared in thousands of printed pages, so maybe I have evened the score."
