In this week’s rerun episode I talk about letting go of other people’s opinions. Caring about what others think is a natural part of being human, but I've learned to care a lot less than I used to. It’s not about flipping off everyone else's opinions and solely focusing on yourself, I'm suggesting something different. It's about shifting the importance we give to others' opinions and prioritising our own self-perception.
Your opinion of yourself matters the most because you're the one living your life, nobody else. So, in this episode I am going to share a handful of things you can start doing to begin letting go of the fear of judgement from others.
Why other people’s opinions have NOTHING to do with you What the ‘spotlight theory’ is and how it can transform your confidence The reason embarrassing situations are “embarrassing” What other people’s opinions are a projection of How to show up authentically and prioritise your opinion How you can truly break free from seeking approval and attract the right people into your life

Katie also shares intimate details about her experience before, during, and after her time within the Lighthouse program, revealing her struggles with emptiness, anger, and the impact of external achievements on her sense of self-worth.
As this is a rerun episode, any mention of the next round of Lighthouse is irrelevant, but please do feel free to reach out to me if you would like more information on when the first round will kick off in 2025.

As the year draws to a close, burnout can feel inevitable for many, which is why I decided to end 2024 with a relatable exploration of the importance of slowing down and embracing rest.
I talk about the need to pause and recharge, especially during a time when societal pressures often push us toward productivity and goal-setting. I also unpack the systemic and personal obstacles to slowing down, shed light on the benefits of rest, and offer practical tips to help you embrace a softer, more intentional season.
Slowing down is not a weakness; it’s a powerful act of self-care and resilience that allows you to truly honor your needs.
Why acknowledging burnout is essential How to challenge societal pressures and listen to your needs What may make rest feel difficult or guilt-inducing Ways to examine the beliefs you’ve inherited about work, rest, and “laziness” The benefits of slowing down for yourself and those around you My 4 practical tips to embrace your soft girl season and truly slow down
In this episode you will learn:-

This week I talk about selfishness and why I feel it is often misunderstood – especially for women, who are frequently conditioned to avoid it at all costs. I share my personal journey with selfishness, then reframe it not as a black-and-white concept but as part of a broader spectrum of caring, with selfishness and martyrdom at opposite ends and healthy caring as the balanced middle.
Today’s episode challenges traditional ideas about selflessness, offering you a more empowering perspective on how to be empathetic and kind to others whilst also respecting your own needs.
Why I believe selfishness is part of a spectrum, not a binary concept What martyrdom is and the role it plays in selfishness The consequences of living in martyrdom (overcaring) How to adopt balanced, healthy caring, towards others and yourself Why it’s so important to prioritise your own needs

This week I talk about the often-overlooked mechanics of stress and the stress cycle. Stress is an inevitable part of life, but managing it effectively requires more than just tackling the external triggers (stressors). I explore the physiological and emotional components of stress, the importance of completing the stress cycle, and actionable strategies to support your body in transitioning from fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest mode.
What I share will reframe stress not as something to fear or avoid but as a natural response that, when properly addressed, can leave you feeling stronger, calmer, and more resilient.
The critical difference between the stressor (the cause) and the stress response (the body's reaction) How you can learnt to manage stress effectively Methods to help your body signal that a stress response is complete Benefits of completing the stress cycle Why avoiding stress doesn’t work Self-care practices that actively help your body process and release stress

In this episode I share insights into the concept of inner committees—the diverse parts of ourselves, such as “confident” you, “chaotic” you, or “competitive” you, that shape your thoughts, feelings, and actions. I draw upon my personal experiences, and explain how these parts work together with the intention of keeping us safe, even if their methods can sometimes be counterproductive.
I will introduce you to Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic approach designed to help people understand, embrace, and heal their internal parts. By identifying the roles of exiles (pain-carrying parts), managers (protective parts), and firefighters (distraction-focused parts), IFS guides individuals toward connecting with their authentic, compassionate self. Through this connection, you can learn to harmonise your inner committee and live with greater self-acceptance and inner peace.
What your ‘Inner Committee’ is and its distinct voices and roles How your inner committee aims to protect and support you Introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS) Ways you can heal through self-compassion and self-acceptance Why self-discovery and healing require ongoing attention and care How to progress through curiosity instead of judgement

This week I share an honest and raw exploration of the topics of friendship guilt and transactional kindness. I talk about my personal experiences with friendship, including the highs and lows, and how I have navigated the challenges of maintaining friendships, especially those with people from different social circles. I also discuss what object impermanence is and how it can relate to struggles with staying organised and maintaining relationships.
There is no universal standard for being a good friend. Friendships are fluid and require individual definitions based on the needs and dynamics of both people. This episode will inspire and encourage you to reflect on your friendships, so you can then define what it means to show up authentically for others.
What transactional kindness is and how it can damage relationships if not addressed Why developing a strong sense of self-worth is important for your friendships How to give and receive love without hidden expectations and what this leads to The key components to ensuring both parties feel valued in a friendship How you can advocate for personal needs in friendships and create space for others to do the same What object impermanence is and how it can extend to relationships How vulnerability can deepen connections and foster trust in your friendships

Let’s get really real! This week I am talking about radical honesty and the complexities of knowing when to leave relationships, jobs, or environments, and why it’s so hard to walk away from discomfort. Some of what I say might feel icky, but I promise you, this is what I needed to hear so many times before!
I tackle the concept of change and why we often resist it, despite the familiar pain. I'll reflect on my own past relationship where I stuck around far too long due to fear and embarrassment, and how I learned the critical lessons of self-worth and boundaries. I’ll also explore actionable steps like journaling and having supportive conversations to foster self-love and trust.
It’s all about being radically honest with yourself about the cost of staying stagnant and facing your fears head-on.
In this episode you will learn:
Insights into identifying when to leave unfulfilling relationships, jobs, or environments What audio book I am listening to that will help you navigate single life and situationships Why you might be resisting change and the role of fear in maintaining the status quo Lessons on self-worth, boundaries, and honesty from personal relationship experiences The importance of radical honesty with yourself about the cost of inaction Tools for building self-love and trust-
