After a strike lasting more than seven weeks, factory workers at Boeing have voted to accept a contract offer and are now getting back to work. The offer would deliver these machinists a 38% wage increase over four years. But ending the strike is just the beginning for the troubled U.S. aerospace giant as it aims to regain public confidence damaged by two fatal crashes, and return to profitability.

China's central government has just introduced a slew of new policies to support childbirth. Measures include strengthened maternity leave and subsidies. Local governments are urged to budget for childcare facilities and levy preferential taxes and fees for such facilities. The central government also called for efforts to build a culture which respects childbearing, marriages at the right age, and shared parental responsibility to raise children.

This year’s BRICS summit has concluded in the Russian city of Kazan. The message from the three-day event is clear: the global reality is changing, and the developing world wants to have adequate representation.
Following more than a decade of development, the BRICS has come to a stage where its international influence must be taken seriously. Its member countries are home to 45 percent of the global population, and they account for more than a third of the global economy.

China's policymakers have been rolling out fresh stimulus to boost the country's property sector for the past few months. Measures announced included lower down payment thresholds and mortgage rates, increasing the amount of affordable housing, and more. Amid such stimulus, property markets in first-tier cities have picked up, and the number of visits to new property projects grew in September.
