Alex and Karen chat with musicians Em Postl and Thomas Hoeller about Streams Poetry Project, their music collaboration that transforms poetry through vocals and guitar. They give an in-depth look into the natural evolution of this project over the last 8 years, from the organic formation of the project that began with some improvisation over a book of poetry by Rumi, to their current focus of working with more local poets and getting their songs recorded. They examine their love of stream-of-consciousness style improvisation (which informed the name of the project); how they vibe off of one another; and how using intuition rather than intellectualizing their source material has allowed them to explore and give new life to works that they love.

Sam and Keely share how they individually got involved with the project and how it’s evolved since they joined the team, and get into the nitty gritty of what it takes to run a registered non-profit that works with “creative people, not organized people”.
