Will Stone has served as Labour MP for Swindon North since the 2024 election and is an outspoken voice on the UK domestic defence industry. Before joining parliament, Will served in the army as a rifleman in The Rifles Regiment and as a councillor for Swindon Borough Council from 2022 to 2024. In 2025 he was appointed as a Business Champion for defence and green technology, and has championed the creation of a drone manufacturing hub in Swindon. In April, Will launched and became the chair of the Cross-Party Parliamentary Group to Strengthen UK Defence Supply Chain. Shortly following this interview, he was also elected as a member of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s parliamentary assembly. In this interview we discussed recent events regarding the UK government's defence policy, Will’s work on the domestic defence supply chain and his experience of leading campaigns from the back benches.
