Vocabulary:
consommer = to consume
mĂȘme = even (or same)

Since the industrial revolution, we produce and consume more and more. This new way of life results in that cities are polluted, that nature is getting worse and that climate is warming up. Today, we consume even more than what the Earth can produce. According to experts, if we change nothing from now until 2050, we will not have enough resources to live on Earth. This and many other serious consequences are part of the predictions.
Many governments have shyly started to be alarmed and have started to change certain things. But for a truly global change, all the governments, all the companies and all the citizens need to participate.
So, what can we do to save the environment? There are a lot of little habits that can change things. For example: to commute by bike, to use less plastic, to reuse clothes, to buy natural and local food, to eat less meat, and in general consume less. Finally, everybody needs to become aware of the problem. Even if a lot has been done, there is still a lot to do.

Every four years, the FIFA (international federation football association) organises the world cup in a different country and continent. Every four years, hundreds of thousands of people go to watch their teamâs games live and other millions of people watch it on television.
Passion for the competition is immense. Families and friends meet to watch games together and have a good time. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner, so many are disappointed. But for the team and the country that wins, itâs absolute euphoria. Everybody parties, everybody is happy and everybody dances and sings.
In 2018, for the second time after 1998, so 20 years later, it is France that has won the world cup.

Translation :
With globalisation et movement by plane becoming easier and easier and cheaper and cheaper, a lot more people decide to leave their country and settle abroad. These people are generally professionals that are looking for better opportunities, a better quality of life and safety for their kids.
Often, make the decision to leave is hard because we are very attached to our native country. We love our family, our culture, our language, our food, and itâs hard to separate from it. So, in general, these immigrants form communities in their new country to meet and live like at home. In consequence, the culture of the new country is diversified and enriched.
Unfortunately, these people are also often victims of racism and to integrate in the new society is hard. It doesnât help that governments in the world are tending more and more to the far right and reject immigration. The united states with Trump, the united kingdom with Brexit or Brazil with Bolsonaro are some examples.
So finally, to leave or to stay? One thing is certain, there is no perfect answer. For each decision, there are advantages and disadvantages.

Here is the translation :
For my first podcast, I have chosen the topic of creating one's own company.
So actually, to have your own project, you have to have a lot of courage and you have to be certain that it is something that you will like. You have to know that to be an entrepreneur, it's difficile. You have to be your own manager, you have to work very hard and you have to have a lot of patience. But at the same time, entrepreneurship has a lot of advantages: We can decide when we work, we can decide what we do, we can take holidays when we want to, and of course, we are masters of ourselves, that means that it is we that decide.
The other advantage, it's flexibility. So the reason for which I would like to develop my online project, it is to be more flexible, to have a schedule that will allow me to spend more time with my family.
So finally, entrepreneurship, it's not for everybody, but I want to start and to try. Maybe I will find my path. Who knows?

Pourquoi on apprend des langues? A quoi ça sert?
Translation :
Why do we learn languages? Whatâs the point? Some people say that itâs useless to learn a foreign language because everybody speaks English. They also say that with artificial intelligence and advanced simplified translation technology, everybody will be able to communicate with everybody without any problem.
Personally, I think that to learn a language, it is much more than for communication. Language is culture, identity and a way of thinking. To learn a new language is to enter in a new universe where you have a lot to discover and a lot to learn. We say that to speak a second language, itâs to have a different vision of life. Moreover, to speak another language can help to find work more easily. It can open international professional perspectives. For example, when I looked for a job in Germany four years ago, speak French gave me an advantage over the other candidates.
Language can also help to travel better. When we know the local language, our experience is much more interesting because we can discover more things and meet a lot of interesting people.
Each one has his/her reason and his/her motivation to learn French. And you, what is your reason and your motivation? -
