What happens when you take alcohol out of the equation? According to this week’s guest, Abby Calabrese, you get deeper connections, a clearer mind, and a whole lot more fun! Abby is a mom of two, a passionate advocate and coach for alcohol-free living, and the host of The Alcohol-Free Coterie podcast. After years of navigating social drinking norms, Abby found freedom in sobriety and is now on a mission to help others do the same.
In this episode, we get into it all—how alcohol is pushed as a “normal” part of life, why the “drink responsibly” message falls flat, and how choosing an alcohol-free lifestyle opens the door to authentic friendships. Abby shares her journey to sobriety, the moment she knew she had to stop drinking, and how non-alcoholic beverages have made her transition easier (spoiler alert: she's a huge fan of NA wines and just won a case of her favorite!).
We also talk about the growing sober movement, the rise of alcohol-free bottle shops, and why mocktail culture is here to stay. If you’ve ever worried that quitting drinking means losing your social life—think again! Abby’s story is proof that the best connections happen when we show up as our true selves. So hit play and let’s raise a mocktail glass to making choices that truly serve us!

Ever wondered how a premium non-alcoholic wine is crafted? This week’s episode is a snippet from the recent Mocktail Summit 2025, where I had the pleasure of hosting a Happy Hour with Duncan Shouler, Chief Winemaker at Giesen and a trailblazer in the alcohol-free wine world. (If you want to catch the full summit replay, snag your pass now!)
Duncan shared how Giesen’s journey into NA wines started with a company-wide health initiative and a desire to create an authentic wine experience without the alcohol. Using cutting-edge spinning cone technology, they’ve perfected the art of de-alcoholizing wine while keeping all the flavor, antioxidants, and joy intact.
The listeners also had the chance to ask Duncan their burning questions, allowing him to dive into the challenges and innovations shaping the NA wine market in 2025, their current lineup of zero-percent wines, and get a sneak peek at what’s next for their company.
This episode is packed with insights from one of the top leaders in the industry - you won’t want to miss it! If you’d like to hear more about Giesen’s story and how Duncan helped bring NA wines to life - head back to Episode 33 of the podcast for a deep dive into their inspiring journey!

Ever wondered what bitters are or how to use them? This episode is here to demystify the magic of these tiny-but-mighty drink enhancers! Recorded as part of the recent Mocktail Summit 2025, I’m chatting with Ian Blessing, co-founder of All The Bitter, an incredible alcohol-free bitters company he runs with his wife, Carly. (Want to hear more about their journey from sommeliers at The French Laundry to NA entrepreneurs? Check out Episode 6 for the full scoop on how they started their company and manage it together!)

Ian breaks down how these intensively flavored extracts can transform everything from sparkling water to your favorite mocktails. And with All The Bitter, they’ve created a totally alcohol-free option that’s packed with flavor and functional benefits, making them perfect for anyone.
And, of course, we couldn’t just talk about bitters—we made a drink together! Ian shares his recipe for Goodnight, Manhattan, a deliciously rich and complex mocktail you can recreate at home. What does it take to bring a delicious non-alcoholic drink to life? Spoiler: a lot more than you’d think! In this episode, I’m chatting with Larry Weintraub from Beckett’s, and we’re diving into all the juicy (and fizzy) details behind the magic of crafting amazing alcohol-free options.
From his unique transition from the music industry and social media marketing to innovating in the beverage space, Larry shares his insights into how Beckett's has become a staple for those seeking alcohol-free alternatives. We’re talking zebra striping (what?!), the rise of mocktails on menus, and why the next generation drinks a lot less. Plus, Larry spills the tea (or should we say, the sparkling cocktail?) on the challenges and triumphs Beckett's has faced in gaining shelf space in a market dominated by alcohol distributors, diving into how strategic partnerships, particularly their success story with Total Wine, have been pivotal in boosting the brand's visibility and accessibility.
Beckett’s is also a sponsor of the Mocktail Summit happening in January! Ten lucky winners with an all-access or VIP pass will get their “Taste of Everything” box, a treasure chest of Beckett’s deliciousness. So tune in, register, and toast to community, creativity, and the booming world of booze-free beverages.
