Ok, I’m going to try something different this time! Since Kerry always posts his Kerry Crowley Show (including all of our KROG collaborations) to his You Tube channel, and since Substack supports both video and audio programming, I’m going to join the modern world and provide the latest KROG in both video and podcast format so you can enjoy our conversation however you’d like!
Kerry and I talk about the Giants’ slow start, our expectations going forward for many of the players, and we get into some of what’s happening on the farm as well.

To welcome in the start of the 2024 minor league season, I’m joined by fellow Giants’ prospect maven Wrenzie Regodon to preview all four Giants’ minor league affiliate teams, making our best guesses at what the rosters will look like. It’s a super-stuffed edition of the pod as we go level by level, talking about the most compelling parts of every roster and picking out a few sleeper candidates on top of the big names.
(Quick Note to avoid confusion: you’ll note in the podcast that some of our thoughts on the Eugene roster don’t quite jive with the written preview I published yesterday. This podcast was actually recorded a bit earlier than that written piece, which we now know to be more accurate).

This week I’m joined by Lance Brozdowski, Player Development Analyst for the Marquee Sports Network — which is pretty much the coolest job title in all of baseball as far as I’m concerned. Lance also has a fantastic You Tube channel on which he does deep dives into the prospect world, using the type of data-driven development lens that all modern front offices are using.

Once again this year, it’s my privilege to get to chat with Giants’ Senior International Scouting Director, Joe Salermo, to discuss the team’s latest class of incoming international free agents. January 15th opens the year’s signing period (it closes on December 15th), and the Giants introduced 20 new talents to the system. Joe talks about the team’s history with top signings Yoendry Sanchez and Jhonny Level, and points out a few of the real sleepers he thinks the Giants got this year. Salermo also talks a little about the team’s history scouting Jung-Hoo Lee and players from last year’s class who really stood out in their first season of pro ball.
