Julie Anne Sailsbury interviews Lord Russell Baker about what it is like to be a Lord in England.

An interesting discussion around the differences of being a Manorial Lord and a Peer with a seat in the House of Lords in the UK.

Manorial titles come with a deed of possession/ownership and with 100% incorporeal rights. Also manorial titles and fully inheritable, whereas modern day peers are life peerages and can not be inherited.

Some interesting discussion too that includes HRH Princess of Wales (Kate Middleton) and HRH Prince Harry.

    A very special show indeed!!

Anthony has travelled the world as a writer / photographer / publisher. He is best known for his stunning coffee table books, including China the Beautiful.

Anthony's books document the history and aesthetic of locations around the world, using his own writing and photography.

Anthony has had several explorations to remote areas, always with an eye to a good photograph. During his time in the Himalayas, Anthomy went to Everest base camp at 17,000 feet and subsequently explored both Tibet and Bhutan.

Anthony also once visited Mother Teresa in Calcutta, by appointment. Anthony was deeply moved by her work and her genuine sincerity. And as Anthony states, 'It is not often that one is in the presence of a saint. She was petite and hardly came up to my hip. We sat in the sun on the balcony of her sparse, but immaculately clean, room. For some 45 minutes she held my hand between her own two tiny hands and talked to me about the benefits of charity so that she could continue her good works.

Mother Teresa allowed Anthony to take a photograph of her.

Whilst in Southern China, Anthony woke early one morning to find the villagers assembling in the playground near the hotel and in front of them lined up ten prisoners who were to be shot for murder, with placards around their necks denoting their crimes. The families of the prisoners were sent a bill to pay for the cost of the bullet. 10,000 such people were executed in China that year. Anthony's photo ‘Mort du Matin' came out all over the world in Paris Match.

Not forgetting a wonderful little story in Monaco with Anthony's great friend Shirley Bassey when they sung 'My Way' together, yes the title of my first book My Way - The Autobiography.

Just a few senational stories we will be talking about on the show, plus a lot more too.

You lucky folk... You get it all on The World of Lord Russell PodCast Talk Show.

Such an exciting show next week and as always, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on the inside.

During his playing career, Terry made a total of 455 appearances in the English Football League for Crystal Palace Football Club, Queens Park Rangers FC, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City Football Club and Swindon Town Football Club.

Terry Fenwick made twenty appearances for the England football team from 1984 to 1988, and represented the country at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in #Mexico.

Terry was one of five England players, in the quarter-final against #Argentina, at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City, Mexico, that formed the build up to the "Goal of the Century". Yes, not 'The Hand of God' goal, but the mesmerising Maradonna goal that is probably, and arguably, the best ever World Cup Finals goals in the hostory of the FIFA World Cup.

There is even a plaque on the side of the Azteca Stadium that sybolises the Maradonna goal, at the stadium against England, in the 1986 World Cup quarter-final for Argentina.

Terry Fenwick began his managerial career in the mid-1990s with Portsmouth Football Club from 1995 to 1998. Terry later had executive and managerial stints at Southall, Ashford Town and Northampton Town Football Club.

Terry Curran is an English former professional footballer whose career lasted from 1975 to 1988.

Terry was an attacking midfielder who could also play as a winger, and as an out-and-out striker.

During his 13-year career, Terry Curran played for 16 football clubs, both English and European. So truly the original football journeyman, although he is known by Sheffield Wednesday FC supporters for his part in launching the clubs revival during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Brian Clough was wanting to sign him but was put off by the asking price of £140,000, so he controversially told Terry Curran's brother of his interest so Terry would not sign a new contract, thus reducing the transfer fee

He signed for Nottingham Forest in August 1975 for £50,000. In two seasons, he played 48 games, scoring 12 goals for Forest, helping them gain promotion to Division One in the 1976–77 season.

I remember that season well with Nottingham Forest going up to Division One with Wolves and Chelsea.

The following season Nottingham Forest won the First Division Championship and then won back to back European Champions League trophies, then of course the European Cup.

In October 2012, Terry Curran's autobiography, "Regrets of a Football Maverick", was published.

Terry also wrote another interesting book, ‘Gimme The Ball: My Take On The Beautiful Game’, which was published in September 2021. This fabulous book portrays Terry Curran as the Owls idol, which his was and still is, and shoots from the hip as the book explores the good, bad, and ugly sides of the 'beautiful game'. The book introduces, and discusses, the 'greats' including, GEORGE BEST, ALAN BALL and BRIAN CLOUGH, who or course inspired Terry Curran's own exciting, and unpredictable career, whilst also revealing Terry Curran's explosive, but close relationship with JACK CHARLTON.

A fabulous Podcast about a fooball genious.
