Today is the first episode of our second series. After discovering the fascinating world of cryptocurrency and blockchain, we've decided to look inwards. The topic we went for is Becoming Your Best Self, and during the course of this series Leen, Daphne and Aristide will each have conversations with different people they hope can help them in their individual journey.

In the second episode of our cryptocurrency and blockchain series, we speak to Ruben Merre, part of Belgium's 2021 40-under-40, and the CEO of Belgian cold wallet company NGRAVE - a company on a mission to eradicate the loss and the malicious hacking of cryptocurrency assets. Besides that, Ruben is passionate about music, and a lifelong learner that devours 50 books per year. Our guest lecturer this month is the inspiring Sébastien Aguilar. Sébastien is 35 years old, a young father, a husband, a son, a community builder, and… financially independent. Always driven by impact, he built a career in the field of sustainability, as a manager and senior consultant in energy management and climate change migration. However, after a financial wake-up call, Sébastien decided to learn how to invest, and in seven years he went from broke to financially independent – quitting his job in the process. We spoke to Sébastien about his journey, and about how financial independence and managing your money are simply tools for living a more fulfilling life and ultimately helping others. He teaches us about index investing and gives lots of practical tips to get started, including the 4% rule of thumb that helps you estimate how much money you need if you want to be financially independent. Most importantly, we learn how the greatest gift of improving your financial situation is 'more time'; more time with your family and friends, more time to follow your passion, and more time for creating a greater impact in your community.

Having gone through a burnout in 2014, she writes about burnout being an invitation to live life differently. Today Mieke offers an array of services through her website, including online courses, individual guidance, and group trips. We speak to Mieke about her burnout, her recovery, and her journey towards becoming a conscious entrepreneur.
