We’re back this week slightly unwell, slightly unhinged, and catching up on everything we’ve been reading lately (plus an unexpected Afrin dependency… don’t ask). We swap recs, talk through our very different reading tastes, and then get into Haunting Adeline - where opinions are definitely not aligned.
We dive into character development, questionable nicknames (because some of them apparently just… don’t hit), and have a real, no-BS conversation about consent in dark romance and where the line is in fiction. Also… somehow we spiral into dental stories, because that’s just who we are at this point.
A little chaotic, a little spicy, and very us.

In this episode we bounce around between TV show recommendations, book talk, and some very real conversations about body image and self-consciousness. We also get into our reading habits - why we both still prefer physical books over Kindle, when audiobooks work for us (and when they don’t), and the chaos of trying to squeeze reading into busy schedules. We talk about the eternal reader debate of standalone books vs. committing to a series, plus some of the fears and preferences that shape what we pick up next. It’s a mix of relatable life moments, reading struggles, and the usual bookish chaos.

In this episode, we dive into the Sarah J. Maas Call Her Daddy interview and unpack everything - from finally learning it’s Maas, not Moss, to new ACOTAR book announcements and what this means for the ever-expanding Massiverse. We talk about our favorite moments from the interview, Sarah’s writing process, the emotional depth behind her characters, and why fantasy romance deserves more respect than it gets. Plus, we spiral into Bat Boys, book boyfriends ruining real-life dating expectations, and whether smut books are actually just therapy in disguise. Chaos, caffeine, and a lot of Maas appreciation ahead.

In this episode, we kick things off in true chaotic fashion - allergies, failed planning skills, and somehow a passionate detour into hangovers and Taco Bell cravings.
Then we dive headfirst into the book series we’re currently obsessed with, breaking down the characters, the relationships, and of course… the morally grey men. We talk character development, emotionally unavailable love interests, who qualifies as husband material, and whether a TV adaptation would absolutely ruin everything.
We also get into our reading habits, and how A Court of Thorns and Roses completely shifted our reading era. We rate the series, pick favorites (and least favorites), and chat about why it’s been such a gateway for so many readers — especially when it comes to consent and complex relationships.
Allergies, unhinged opinions, and fictional men we’d risk it all for.

In this episode, Addie and Essie are fully in their dark romance era. We talk about Essie’s current reading spiral, the chokehold certain audiobook narrators have on us, and what’s sitting (or rotting) on our TBRs.
We get into the series that have taken over our personalities, dream casting and adaptations we’d love to see (and the ones Hollywood would probably ruin), and of course our favorite morally gray men.
We also have a real conversation about dark romance as a genre - the different subgenres, taboo tropes, and why loving red flags in fiction does not mean we want them in real life. Fantasy is fantasy, and we’re here for the chaos… on the page.

We start this episode the only appropriate way: hyping each other’s hair and catching up on life - because priorities.
Then we dive headfirst into all things Sara Cate, book tropes, and the unhinged (but elite) reading preferences that make us who we are. We’re talking voyeurism, exhibitionism, step-sibling and adopted cousin tropes, obsessive heroes, morally gray men, and why sometimes you just need a good mafia romance as a palate cleanser.
