I love hobbies. I think they’re fascinating and—I mean this without a hint of irony— lifesaving. So I'm starting a BRAND NEW podcast about them called Niche to Meet You. I think my rogue ones will like it.
This project celebrates little-known “leisure activities,” interests, conferences, gatherings, and meetups that you may or may not be familiar with (but, after you hear our guests’ stories, you will be).

Paul Cardall's music has inspired and upheld many through their darkest moments - garnering 6 #1 albums on the Billboard charts. Perhaps more significantly, Paul was born with congenital heart disease, and it was through this experience that he developed a sense of purpose. This purpose has been confirmed over and over again in Paul’s life, especially when he was put on the heart transplant list and waited for over a year - facing the heavy burden that in order for his life to continue, someone else’s life must end.

Chances are high you’ve heard of little dog named Doug. And he’s a Pug. He’s Doug the Pug. And he has 3.7 million followers on Instagram. Ten years ago, before Doug the Pug was born, I sat in a music business class next to a girl who shared a first name with me. Her name is Leslie Mosier, and within a few years she would get the dog of her dreams and be catapulted into a career of epic proportions as a quote, “momager” to Mr. Doug himself.
In addition to her work changing the world through the reach of her little dog, Leslie Mosier recently became an advocate for Endometriosis awareness. After enduring years of pain, she has started to dig deeply into this issue as it strikes a raw and real connection with her fans that are struggling with the same diagnosis. March is known as Endometriosis awareness month, and to add her voice to the cause, Leslie dropped her first musical single in years with a video showing her at some of her most vulnerable, painful moments. The video is raw, real, and powerful. All proceeds from this single will go to The Endometriosis Foundation of America & The Endometriosis Coalition. WATCH THE VIDEO and DOWNLOAD THE SONG.

Lance is a dog sled musher and leads a team of 16 dogs through Alaskan Wilderness for miles and miles and days and days. He also has an award-winning documentary that’s been made about his life, and feature film is in the works. But in addition to that, and maybe even more importantly - Lance is a throat cancer survivor, and ex-addict who spent most of his life running from what, it seems, he was born to do.

Best known for his 5/3/1 program, Jim Wendler is an ICON in the world of strength training and powerlifting. His first powerlifting program book written in 2011 has sold over 500,000 copies. Since then, he’s released three more books on the 5/3/1 variation to the same acclaim. Jim is currently a volunteer football coach in his small Ohio community and maintains an online presence by writing blogs, most recently on the subject of “Eat . Sleep. mate. defend.”

This episode features a sampling of times I've been interrupted by some form of dog noise. Most sounds are featuring Millie Thompson, though there are a couple brought to you by the infamous Sydney Thompson, who left this earth April 2018 (RIP).
