  • Hey there, welcome back to another episode! Today, we're tackling a crucial topic that's often overlooked: delegating tasks clearly. You see, delegation isn't just about passing off tasks to your team or contractorsโ€”it's a skill that applies to every aspect of your life. Inspired by Brene Brown's insights in "Dare to Lead," we're asking the fundamental question: What does done look like?

Think about it. How many times have you handed off a task in a frazzled state, only to be disappointed with the results? The truth is, clarity is key. Whether you're managing a team or simply trying to streamline your personal life, everyone involved needs to know exactly what success looks like. So, in today's episode, we're getting into strategies for articulating expectations clearly, from documenting processes to setting up clear communication channels and even placing success examples in your businessโ€™s SOP.

So, whether you're appealing to the meticulous researcher who reads every review or the spontaneous shopper who loves a good impulse buy, this episode has got you covered with tips on how to connect with both head and heart buyers alike.

  • We hear it all the time: โ€œBuild a business so that you have freedom.โ€ You know, that elusive concept we're all chasing after as we build our businesses and craft our lives. But what does freedom really mean? And how do we go about designing a life that gives us the freedoms we want?

Well, buckle up because we're about to explore it all in this episode. There are three types of freedom that most entrepreneurs crave: having the time to do what you love, the flexibility to work from anywhere, and the financial stability to support your dreams. But hey, freedom isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. It looks different for everyone, and that's okay! At the end of it all, what do you want to be able to say about your life and what would you describe as a life well spent? Thatโ€™s really what freedom is to me.

Itโ€™s important to chase after your hopes and dreams, but donโ€™t do it haphazardly. Chase dreams with purpose and intention. But in order to do this, you have to get really clear on what those long-term goals are and it's important to be really specific. You can build these freedoms into your business just like I have. So listen on to learn more about how these freedoms can change your business and your life and ways you can start focusing on achieving them.

  • Welcome back to the third and final part of The Art of Business! I recently had the privilege of delivering a keynote presentation that really got me thinking. I reflected deeply on my journey over the past 12-13 years โ€“ the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Out of that reflection emerged the concept of the art of business, broken down into three insightful sections, which we are exploring together across this series.

After Part 2 of this series, we are moving right along into Bonnie 5.0 - The Confident. I gained momentum, business was booming, but we didnโ€™t know then how great 2019 was before 2020 hit us all hard. In this episode, youโ€™ll learn about the ways I created revenue during this time and all about the insane and huge decisions I made during this phase. But more importantly, youโ€™ll hear all about the mindset and philosophies I had to adopt during this phase and what it really means to be confident.

After The Confident, we head into Bonnie 6.0 and then where I am today as a result of these important and formative phases. What a ride it has been!

Join me for this final part for the discussion about building resilience around vulnerability, how to step into a visionary role, and learn all the things I really wish I had known in my journey as an entrepreneur. And I invite you to think about what version of yourself you are in and see where you could be headed next.

  • In this episode of The Professional Creative Podcast, we're visiting the phenomenon of New Year's goals and the energy that comes with them. Lisa Jacobs is a New Year fanatic and she leads the charge as we check in on our 2024 goals. It's only a few weeks into January, but now is the perfect time to reflect on our behavior and assess if we're on track to achieve what we set out to do this year.

The new year brings with it a sense of clean slate energyโ€”a chance to start over and embrace the endless possibilities ahead. However, as the weeks progress, this energy can feel fleeting, leaving many feeling burdened and overwhelmed. We explore the reasons behind the short lifespan of new year's resolutions and the importance of vigilance and consistency in achieving our goals.

But here's the thing: setting goals and making positive changes doesn't have to be confined to January 1st. We discuss how we can reset the pace at any time of the year and give ourselves permission to move temporal landmarks if needed. After all, the journey is just as important as the destination. So, whether you're starting fresh on January 1st or later in the year, remember to set yourself up for a marathon, not a sprint.
