  • As a Bonus episode on our The Power Of Choice Podcast, you can listen to a Spring/Wood season episode, and learn all about the season in which we are entering.

Nature awakens, painting the world with fresh blooms and lush greenery, spring breathes new life into the air, inviting a season of renewal and growth.

This season, influenced by the wood element, encourages us to stretch our limbs and grow anew, urging us to embark on fresh starts and pursue new directions with vigour and optimism.

  • In the fourth episode of The Power of Choice, we explore the highly sensitive subject of terminating a pregnancy or having an abortion. I interviewed Millie, who has had three terminations and Zara, who is in her 80's and reflects back on the process leading up to her decision to have a termination.

My interviews with Millie and Zara are incredibly emotional and revealed a code of silence surrounding this topic. Both my guests experienced a lack of support before and after their terminations which they both described as having left them with a sense of loneliness. As the interviews progressed, my guests both shared that whilst many people acknowledged their right to choose and openly spoke about it, they were equally reluctant to delve deeper.

The code of silence experienced by my two guests, and supported by my guest interviewer, Suzi, left me saddened at how we have failed to support women particularly given that Amnesty International data states that one in four pregnancies globally end in a termination.

Ultimately, this episode aimed to foster an open and transparent dialogue around this emotive and deeply personal area. By doing so we hope to encourage understanding, support and compassion for women facing this difficult choice.

  • In the midst of winter's quiet embrace, where the days grow shorter and nature seems to pause, a resilient force persists—the power of water. Join us in this compelling episode, as we explore the profound symbolism and timeless wisdom that water imparts during the colder months.

As winter settles in, the monotonous sound of water, whether in a fountain or by the ocean, becomes hypnotic. Its repetition resonates with us, revealing life's continual journey of change and transformation. Much like water shifts from solid to fluid to vapour, we too experience ongoing growth and evolution.

With its call to retreat and embrace stillness, winter encourages us to turn inward. As the natural world slows down, we find solace and clarity amidst the cold darkness, attuning ourselves to our internal world.

In its ability to hold the collective memory of our ancestors, water safeguards the essence of who we are, reminding us of our connection to the divine and the vast tapestry of existence. Winter, often associated with fear, becomes a dance between fear and fearlessness as water teaches us to balance historical challenges with the will to survive and thrive.

With its power to shape and erode, water signifies an eternal cycle, a reminder that, like water, our lives are boundless and eternal.

Join us in this reflective journey through the frozen landscapes of winter, as we embrace the soothing sound of water and draw inspiration from its timeless teachings.
