Welcome to Episode 20 of The Paranormal Rundown! We wrap up our first season with a special treat! Vic is going to finally give us the full details of the incredible cryptid experience he had years ago in Australia. Hard to say if it was a Yowie, Bigfoot, Lougarou, Dogman or what. It doesn't quite fit any specific one perfectly, so you decide. Father Birdsong also retells a recent, very vivid, Dream of Hell or Sheol. Other topics include Things in the Woods We Don't Talk About, The Woods of Appalachia, Special Desert Beverages, A Demon for Every Sin, Cursed Lands, Aokigahara, Gettysburg, Antietam, and Dingylacines.
After this episode, the Gang of Nerds will be taking a brief sabbatical to rest and recharge. Pretty sure Vic will keep on adding to that list though... We should be starting up season 2 in early summer, so we will see you soon!

Deacon Josh gives us a rundown on The Book of Tobit, Vic tells us all about Goofer Dust, JJ gives us the aerodynamic benefits of Chicken Feet as Spaceships, and David introduces the concept of having a Spiritual Immune System when it comes to the Demonic. There are many other topics in the middle, including The Book of Q, Gnostic Texts, Flayed Demon Dreams, Tarot Cards, Konxari Cards, Psychic Readings, Greegrees, Metaphysical Shop Energy, the Origin of the Cheshire Cat, and Demonic Points of Attachment. For those of you who are paying attention, you may have noticed that this is Episode 18, not 20, which is a little confusing because the last episode released was Episode 19. Well, someone managed to bump episode 19 up in front of 18 by accident. I won't give you his name, but his initials are DG. Must have gotten a little too excited about discussing those rabbits... Welcome to the 6th episode of the Paranormal Rundown!
Here at The Paranormal Rundown we have been making some changes. You may have noticed! We have settled on a more standard intro and outro, music, some very creative characters (Cedric and Avalon Lee) from the depths of Vic's super creative mind, and even an email for feedback (where we would LOVE to hear from you!). But something was still missing.
There is a certain feel that we have all noticed about some of the Rundown episodes. It is a feeling of excitement, a bit of a rush, a moment where we realize that we are way out on some crazy topic that is nowhere near where we started, but every step we took to get there was an absolute feast for the mind and soul. This is a feeling we would like to capture again and again. We want to set the show up in a way that gets us there regularly. It's not that the other episodes weren't great, as we have enjoyed all of them. But these episodes are, as Vic likes to say: Lightning in a Bottle!
To further that end, we have decided to expand the team. Not only would this give us a little broader set of experiences to pull from when we dont have a guest, it would also add an additional perspective for the many topics on our every growing list (1666 at the current count). The decision about who to ask was just about the easiest we have every had to make! Father Michael Birdsong. Father Mike had so much fun with us in episode 2, and his enthusiasm for the format of the show and the huge variety of topics was unparalleled. Fortunately, it seems like the decision to join us was as easy for him as it was for us.
So for episode 6, we bring back Father Michael Birdsong as a permanent member of the team. As mentioned in episode 2, Father Mike is the pastor of St. Michael and All Angels Church in Thomaston, GA, a member of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. In addition to his other duties, he functions as an exorcist for the Diocese as needed. His experience fighting evil and helping those who are Opressed or Possesed, along with the education and research he had to do for that ministry, gives him invaluable experience that touches a broad range of paranormal topics. Beyond his experience Father Mike has an energy to him, an enthusiasm for the show that is infectious. We know that you are going to love having him on future episodes as much as we do.

Welcome to the 5th episode of the Paranormal Rundown! In case you missed Episode 4, be sure to go back and check it out. We had our first Paranormal Rundown Roundup, where we have a much deeper discussion on a few topics we had previously tabled, including Folk Magic and the Antichrist.
For this episode, our guest is Bigfoot data miner and retired police officer, Val Zavala. Val profiles Bigfoot Sasquatches and has his own Facebook group: Michigan Bigfoot Report and Data: Gumshoguy’s Corner. He also co-hosts the Rolling the Bones podcast with his good friend Grizzly Chris.
Val served two tours in the military as a combat infantrymen and military police investigator. He is a Bachelor of Science graduate of Central Michigan University, and retired after spending over 25 years in law enforcement, from city all the way up to federal agencies. When off duty, he was a licensed private investigator. He has been a police instructor, published articles, spoken at seminars, and been featured on History A & E channel as a subject matter expert. He was even a vetted member of an international intelligence group. Needless to say, Val has his share of experience investigating things!
Before retiring, Val's last curtain call was a humanitarian act of paying it forward, when he set out to search for a person missing for 30+ years, and reunite them with their Ohio family (at no charge). The successful search and recovery took almost 2 years, aided by a medium and DNA.
In 2014, Val had his first and only Bigfoot encounter in Waterloo State Park, Washtenaw County, Michigan. Since then he has spent his time reading, analyzing, comparing and quantifying then sorting hundreds and thousands of Bigfoot reports across the U.S. and North America.
In addition to his thoughts on bigfootery, we discuss Hollywood Overseers, AI, cross pollination of paranormal experiences, phantom 911 calls, spontaneous combustion, psychics, missing 411, Sasquatch the Thief, and more. Before we get started we do want to make you aware that this episode has several mentions of suicide. While our show is often light hearted and humorous, there can also be dark and emotional trauma related to paranormal events. We don't shy away from such things, but in this case we felt we should give you a heads up.
