On today's episode, we sat down with Ken (@ithinkiken) at the Proud Bird near LAX.
We began with the origin story of the On Time Podcast and his time as the producer.
We all started our journey as friends and a lot of our collective knowledge of watches and the watch industry through our membership of the LA Watch Gang. As the gang disbanded from organized hosting, many have joined up with other organizations or transitioned to micro gtgs. Here in southern California, we are spoiled for choices.
Ken described the hype nature of everyone chasing the same handful of watches and was honest about being priced out of the market, but not before he nabbed a Royal Oak Jumbo(15202) late in 2017.
Ken has a love for IWC, and the brand experience has contributed in many ways to that connection.
He is no longer accumulating watches, but still has a strong connection to the pieces in his collection, although he admits that he may wear the same watch for a month at a time since working from home.
Cheers to the LA Watch Gang 💙

On today's episode, we sat down with Stephen outside of a cafe in Costa Mesa.
This episode was a long time in the making.
Before recording our first episode, we reached out to him for advice on which equipment to purchase. Stephen is a day one contributor, and we are proud to finally capture him for a recording.
The place was bustling but a departure from other episodes with auxiliary noise intrusion. Stephen's calm disposition may have contributed to the overall atmosphere of cool.
The conversation weaved between family, watches, bicycles, professions and etc. If you listen hard enough, you can make out some chisme in the background.

On today's episode, we sat down with Aldo H. The H stands for Haute, Humble, Historian or Humanitarian depending on who you ask.
Aldo has been a hobbyist for over a decade now and has built a collection that spans the globe from their place of origin, complication, and year of production. The thing that ties them all together is that they all start with supporting a person, supporting a vision and a desire for personal experience.
In our conversation, he describes his collection as neo vintage. His pieces lean into art, engineering, and innovation. As you get to know him, you'll discover that each purchase is deliberate. Each watch has a significant meaning, which aligns with his personal mantra. It's no surprise that his heart led him to work within the world of nonprofits along side of his professional career path.

On today's episode, we sat down with antiquities dealer Nick Ferrell.
The DC Vintage Watches shop proprietor is rooted in the District of Columbia, but now digitally and physically reside in Southern California.
Nick discusses the difficulties of sourcing some watches as well as the benefit of building strong relationships to create his own trusted network.
It's interesting to see how his former life as an imagery analyst for the Department of Defense actually helps while he interprets the images of watches that he finds across the internet. After hearing that conversation, #FeikoFriday makes a lot more sense.
Nick's genuine interest in Bruce Lee and an elevator pitch to Daniel Dae Kim's manager led to a deeper knowledge of the watches history as well as opening doors into Hollywood, where a text chain between Nick a Ronny Chieng resulted in the true Bruce Lee being born.
Media outlets and publications are paying attention to the DCVW brand and the man behind it. We are happy to have been able to sit down as comrades over some cold beers and hot fries.

On today's episode, we sat down with Sergio & Jesse of the Churros y Puros podcast. I mean come on, who doesn't love churros?
The audio was captured in a Boyle Heights man cave of sorts. There was a sofa, music player, card table, beer fridge and a box with a Fram filter for structural integrity. This was definitely a lair.
These two savants were early adopters of podcasting. Their podcast was preceded by a YouTube channel which they used to review cigars fresh out of high school.
We didn't set any puros ablaze, but we did sip beer and discuss watches, culture, philosophy and so much more.

On today's episode, we sat down with Carlo Terlizzi, who inconspicuously moves around Instagram under the moniker of @Carlo.Terlizzi.
This episode explored Carlo's collecting philosophy as he brought two watch rolls. One roll described as B.C. and the other described as A.C. He goes on to explain that as Before Covid and After Covid.
Carlo is drawn to all things blue. Blue dials, blue straps and even blue vehicles. An early experience in his life may have helped shape this proclivity.
His surprise Vegas nuptials lead to a quartz Bond Seamaster and he is no stranger to quartz.
Carlo is a long time fan of Seiko and Omega, but has a soft spot for Longines and small seconds.
We think Carlo may have found a life hack while purchasing shareable size watches with his wife.
Some of his purchases are driven by the dial, while others are for the movement. Carlo has found his own niche, while simultaneously exploring other designs, materials and functionality.

On today's episode, we sat down with Gary, who is affectionately known as @WatchWineMan on Instagram.
He showed up with his thoughtfully curated timepieces stowed away in an inconspicuous Shoe City bag.
It's appropriate that we re-emerge from our layoff with a guest that was able to not only enlighten us on several topics, but close the loop on a story which picks up where his episode of The On Time Podcast left off.
Gary is recently retired and embarking on another chapter of his life. We are all fortunate enough to be privy to this audio bookmark in the pages of his life.

On today's episode, we sat down with Chris, who is on the third reboot of @Farlius(©️,™️ and patent pending).
We sat out in the sunny, but brisk winter air of the @CoffeeDoseCafe back patio. This recording took place just days before Christmas.
Coffee flowed and conversation flowed. We enjoyed lattes and flat whites along with topics from watch boosting to Ochs Und Junior to G Shock and Rolex. We also managed to stir in a little hijinks with giving away Chris' chair.
We discussed brand interaction from the independent companies to the major players. This mixture was a recipe for a great time to be had by all.

On today's episode, we sat down with Matt & Gregg of the
@spiritoftimepodcast.
These collaborative episodes seem to be taking on a life of their own. On this particular day, we had a special visitor(@horology411) drop in and surprise us.
This day could be described as a mild sauna and it most certainly was. The heat wasn't anything that cold beers and great company couldn't quell.
I think this episode could be described as a smorgasbord. Hot and cold takes and a little bit of something for everybody.
Special thanks to @rtrbrew for being a gracious host.

On today's episode, we sat down with Matt & Gregg of the
@spiritoftimepodcast.
This is our second collaborative episode and we chose to strike out on an adventure through the San Gabriel Valley. This adventure will forever be remembered as "Tour de Beer".
On this day we were celebrating Matt's 50th birthday, celebrating beer, celebrating watches, celebrating local businesses, celebrating life and celebrating friendship.
Special thanks to @wingwalkerbrewing, @overtownbrewing and @vendome_arcadia for being gracious hosts.

On today's episode, we sat down with Ed Estlow (@EdEstlow). Ed jokes of a checked past. This can be best summed up as a past full of many paths and curiosities.
A handful of Ed's proclivities would include aerospace, fishing, freelance writing, creating jewelry, double wristing watches and being early to the bund party.
We hope that you all enjoy this glimpse into the life of Mr. Estlow as much as we did recording it.

On this episode, we sat down with Matt & Gregg of @spiritoftimepodcast. This was a refreshing return to the poolside podcast.
Both of these gentlemen are part of the TOTP alumni and have now set out to cut their own piece out of the podcast pie. These pieces tick and are sometimes served neat, but spicing things up is always encouraged.
We each cracked a beer before moving on to the stiff drinks and spirited conversation.
We are pleased to welcome these gents into a community that has continued to be ever so gracious to us.

On this episode, we sat down with Curtis Chen of @GreyAndPatina. Curtis is the proprietor of a BAO (By Appointment Only) space in Costa Mesa. There is no signage on the outside and you are encouraged to let your curiosity roam free from the interior.
As Curtis climbed the corporate ladder, he was confronted with the realization that he could live his dream now, versus waiting until after retirement.
There were of course watches, but there were also bikes, motorcycles, bows, art, rugs, whiskey, exotic succulents, etc. We are more than just the sum of our parts or our collections.

On the third installment of the poolside podcast, we sat down with Michael Haymond ( MHaymond1) outside of his Orange County home. Amidst the candlelit ambience and top four pours from the 2019 Whisky Advocate's list of top 20 whiskies, we discussed Michael's desire to build community in his local area. With the success of Orange County, the community grew outward into the rich tapestry of the watch community.
Michael's journey through collecting has taken some interesting turns, some of which lead him right back to the beginning of his journey.

On this episode, we sat down with Gregg (@time_and_tequila) outside of his SGV home. The nights light rippled off of his pool and the bottom of our glasses were always left wet. Gregg discussed how tequila preceded his love of watches, but was reminded by a friend of the symbiotic nature between his two loves. We had a colorful ride, which wouldn't have been complete without the rhythm of the drum circle. Please like, share, comment and most of all enjoy...

On this episode, we sat down with Michael Gavina (@mgavina) on the back porch of his home accompanied by cigar smoke and libations. This has been in the works for a while and finally feels like a partial return to normalcy. During this episode we discussed his collection as well as the stories that uniquely connected him to each one of them. Michael considers himself pragmatic, but his taste in Gucci watches might allude to something quite different. Please like, share, comment and most of all enjoy...

On this episode, we sat down with Nick (@sydneywatchguy) at a second floor bar, just off of the coast of Double Bay. This is the final installment of our episodes from Down Under. We were also accompanied by our local fixer, aspiring DJ and royal pain in the butt, Nick (@nikokav). We dove into the world of SWG. He is the man who founded The Australian Watch forum. He is a watch aficionado, lover of food, world traveler and art connoisseur. Please sit back, relax and enjoy the shenanigans…

Josh Hacko is a 4th gen watchmaker and tinkerer based in Sydney. #theouttatimepodcast was fortunate enough to tour the bunker and talk watches just before the lock down. And truly, you can tell how much Josh loves the craft judging from the way his eyes glisten telling us why they do what they do at @nicholashackowatch while competing with various background machine noises. The man is driven. Josh Hacko is a 4th gen watchmaker and tinkerer based in Sydney. #theouttatimepodcast was fortunate enough to tour the bunker and talk watches just before the lock down. In this special episode of The Outta Time Podcast, Josh, Summer, Chase and Nathalie broke curfew to meet and talk. It was the first time we had all been together since before Covid-19. Each of us was nervous and you can hear it in our sometimes shaky voices and jumbled words, but we each felt it was important to release this so that it would perhaps make it easier to have these long overdue discussions. It’s our hope that it will help change hearts and minds. We’ve said it from the start: We Came for the Watches, Stayed for the People. There is no watch talk in this episode, but it is most definitely about time...

On this episode, we realized that we know a lot of Nicks. We also introduced you to our guest host of our three Down Under episodes. We welcomed Nick(@Nikokav), who honed his interview skills in radio as DJ Funky Nik K. Don't you fret, Joshua will be back when the podcast resumes stateside, but we have to admit that Nick did add a bit of spice to the table. He also brought along Nick (@Sydney_Watch_Guy), who is a local watch aficionado and recently served as the best man for his pre-Covid nuptials.
Summer and the two Nicks dove into food, watches and a bit of mischief. Now, let’s go down under for another special episode of TOTP.
