This is what you need to know to make sense of the election and what it should mean for us all going forward.
Nine's chief political editor Charles Croucher unpacks the key elements that decided this election, whether Trump played a role, what the liberal party must learn and what the Albanese government has to take action on
He also speaks more broadly about the importance of a strong opposition, the place of kindness in leadership, and just how much the way we get information on politics has changed.

Something happened on the other side of that election result which I would really love to talk about.
Something which we’ve I’ve noticed missing among all the forensic dissection of how the libs lost this or the greens lost that.
There’s a massive, glaring fact which I haven’t seen discussed yet, so I thought I’d put it out there.
It’s got to do with what we’re being told we are vs what we actually are.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sometimes it can feel like everything is out of our control - that things happen to us rather than for us or with us. But what if instead of fearing change, we could know that we were ready for it, and that we could harness it deliberately to steer us toward the life we want?
This is exactly what this chat between Osher and Andrea Clarke will help you do.
Andrea is a work futurist, speaker and author of two books: 'Futurefit: how to stay relevant and competitive in the future of work', and her latest 'Adapt: mastering change in four steps'
Here, through practical tips and tools and in the example of her own remarkable career, Andrea show us how to look for signals that change is coming (or needs to come), how we can have agency no matter what life throws at us and the possibilities being adaptable opens for us.

There’s two kinds of people when it comes to holidays.
Those who are more than happy to spend two straight weeks napping by the pool, and those who struggle with suddenly not having something to do.
Osher is most definitely in the latter cohort.
In this episode he shares how over time, he’s had to learn a lot about what to do when he’s not working. Mostly because when he goes too hard in either direction (work or play) - it’s not a good time for me or anyone.

This episode was recorded live at SXSW 2024 - and it might be a very different example of what a politician sounds like from what you've been hearing recently.
Here, Allegra not only reveals to Osher and an eager crowd the realities of political life in Canberra, the best and worst things about the job and why some other politicians are focused on the wrong things, but also the importance of empathy, having hard conversations, how she personally stays mentally strong and how we can focus more on people to find solutions.
Special thanks to Wolfgang Günsberg for help with the intro and outro of this episode.

Like many, Dr Billy Garvey recently watched the limited series 'Adolescence'.
However, unlike many, as one of the country's leading voices on childhood development and mental health, he is able to offer some crucial insights into the issues the program presents, the solutions we must all be a part of, as well as what he wished the program showed...But before that, Dr Garvey shares with Osher some research-backed insights into parenting more broadly, as well as practical tools for calming and connecting with your kids.

You think you and your siblings are close?
Michael and Andrew Tierney haven't just shared their lives as brothers together, but for 36 years and counting, they've shared songs, spot-lit stages and the story of one of Australia's biggest musical acts and exports: Human Nature.
And they've managed to do it in harmony - both musically and non-musically.In this conversation with Osher, they look back on this incredible journey and ahead to the music they are now making together under the Tierney Brothers name. They talk about everything that's changed in their lives and the industry - including tensions in the band, Andrew's sobriety, living and working in Las Vegas - and everything that's stayed the same, like their undying love of performance.

Is there any escape from the effects of dating apps?
They've clearly changed the dominant paradigms and culture for single people - but could their effects also extend to how we behave in relationships, the kind of ways we value and talk about one another or connect more broadly?
These are the kind of questions that Dr Lisa Portolan, academic and author, has made it her life's work to research and study. And exactly the kind of questions she and Osher dive into in this chat.

Osher's journey in sobriety started just a few weeks before his birthday - a birthday that was destined to take place in Las Vegas. Not ideal. But what happened there, and what he learnt in the process, was life changing.

There is no bigger issue this election than climate change. And who we put into power today will make a crucial difference tomorrow.
That's the clear message from Amanda McKenzie, co-founder and CEO of the Climate Council - Australia's leading organisation for independent climate research and advocacy.
In this conversation with Osher, Amanda compares the track records of previous governments' climate action, discusses the option of nuclear, clearly states what's at stake, gives a hopeful vision of the future, and lets us know the questions we all should be asking heading into this election.

One of the first jokes that Andrew Hamilton came up with was about the night his house was raided. Later, while making himself laugh at his own reviews of the food he was being served in prison, he thought maybe he should finally actually try following his dream of stand up comedy. So far it's turned out a whole better than dealing drugs.
In this wide-ranging chat with Osher, Andrew shares the many things he experienced in prison, and provides a profound example of making a dramatic change in your life's direction.

Are you aware of the tricks that political messaging uses to manipulate your emotions? Or your attention? Or to simply dodge the hard questions?
Here, Osher breaks down the most commonly seen examples - with the hope that being able to recognise them will keep you more calm in the lead up to the coming election, and steer you to better discussions, better information and a vote you feel better about.
Plus, once you know them, you'll see that these mental and logical manipulations don’t solely appear in political campaigning either...
