In this conversation, Denise talked to me about growing up in Northumberland, her early days in show business, divorce, postnatal depression and much, much more. It’s a jam packed chat from a survivor who takes everything life has to offer and makes the best of it
I hope you find Denise’s story as inspiring as I did.

Tyler Henry, star of the Netflix series Life after Death with Tyler Henry, is known as America’s most watched medium. He first came to public attention on the E! Entertainment’s hit show Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry but his journey with clairvoyance began when he was just 10 years old. It was then that he started to receive ‘intuitive mental images’ and foretold his grandmother’s death at the time. Word of Tyler’s gift began to spread locally, and he even began sometimes ‘reading’ his own classmates in his small California hometown.
In this chat with Darren, Tyler talks about the importance of striking whilst the iron is hot, resilience, what it was like for him coming out and of course, what lies beyond the physical world.
It was a fascinating conversation and I hope you enjoy it.

Darren.

This week on The Number, I was delighted to spend time with David Collins, creator of the internationally successful series Queer Eye.
David is a seven time Emmy award winning producer and creative powerhouse who co-founded the TV and film production company Scout Productions over 25 years ago. More importantly, he is also a father to twin girls who he co-parents with his ex-partner.
In this conversation David shared what it was like coming from Ohio and making his way in the world. Running away to New York when he was 14, the realities of co-parenting teenage girls and how he always felt growing up, that a full and exciting life was ahead of him - he just had to run towards it.
I hope you love it as much as I do.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to one of the world's most bankable models, David Gandy.
David is instantly recognisable for his smouldering gaze and a pair of skimpy white briefs and has appeared on billboards and in magazines all over the world. The British model, entrepreneur and charity ambassador has blazed a trail within the modelling industry since his career began aged 21. His breakout moment came in 2007 with the now iconic Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue fragrance commercial shot by photographer Mario Testino.
Gandy was awoken to the world of modelling after winning a competition on ITV's This Morning after his housemates suggested that he enter. Gandy thought they were joking, but after being entered behind his back he landed a contract with Select Model Management.
In this conversation, we talked about how he started his stellar career, learning his craft, fatherhood and what it's also like to be behind the camera now as he builds his business, David Gandy Wellwear.
Enjoy!

My guest today is Brian Sims, Former Pennsylvania state Representative, highschool football star and activist who tirelessly advocates for LGBT+ civil rights.
Sims made history when he became the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 2012. As a legislator, he worked to remove homosexuality from the state criminal code and voted to expand protections for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. As a passionate advocate for human rights, Sims defended access to reproductive healthcare, fought for criminal justice reform, and sought solutions to environmental issues disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities.
In our chat, Brian talks with me about his life before entering the political arena including what is was like, in the year 2000, to be one of the first American Football captains to have ever come out in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) - the highest level of college football in the United States in 2000.
But it's not all politics and football, Brian also chatted to me about finding love (since our chat Brian has gotten engaged, congrats!) and moving across the country with his now fiancé Alex Drakos. I hope you love it.Darren.

My guest today is Samantha Barry, the editor-in-chief of Glamour, one of the biggest female- focused media titles in the US.
Born and raised in Cork, Ireland, Samantha became the first editor-in-chief of a Conde Nast publication to have never previously worked in print media when she was appointed editor-in-chief by Anna Wintour. Under her leadership, Glamour has reached record breaking monthly audiences and grown their video content hugely with Barry recently interviewing the US First Lady, Dr Jill Biden. Prior to joining Glamour Barry served as executive producer for social and emerging media at CNN Worldwide. Under her leadership at CNN, the network became the most followed news organization in the world.
In this conversation we talked about her incredible career, imposter syndrome, being an immigrant & putting down roots in New York and getting her start on late night news reading shifts in RTE. Samantha is a leading light in global media and I couldn't be more thrilled that she's chatted to me on The Number.
Enjoy!

For my final episode this series, I spoke to my good friend, the formidable Jennifer Zamparelli. Jennifer is a comedian, radio presenter, actor, entrepreneur, writer, producer and TV host. But her talents don't stop there - she recently launched a no holds barred podcast with her pal Lottie Ryan, Jen and Lottie Do Parenting.
She's one of the hardest working people I know and also a great confident. During our chat we talked about everything from turning 40, realising what's important in life and her excitement about the future. There is so much wisdom in the episode and I hope it inspires you to dive into life just like Jen.
See you soon in season 2! We can't wait.

I am thrilled in this episode to be joined by the one and only 'Queen of Manifesting' Roxie Nafousi.
Roxie's debut book Manifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life took the book world and pop culture by storm when it was released in 2022. Welcome to episode 1 of The Number with Darren Kennedy.
In this series, I explore the idea that a life can be measured in numbers. Each week, I'll ask my guests their seven most significant numbers and how they’ve shaped their lives. And for the very first episode, I am delighted that my good friend Nicola Roberts took time out to talk to me. We chatted about her early days in Girls Aloud, the value therapy has brought to her life, her close relationship with her siblings and so much more. I am very grateful to Nicola for being so open with me and sharing a little insight into her world. I hope you enjoy.
Until next Thursday.
