Welcome back to the Needle and Groove Lounge! We have been on hiatus for a couple months but are back for a new season of The Lounge. On this episode the fellas catch up on what they have been listening to including various artist and genres for the past few months. After that we dig into our criticism round featuring new albums that we share and then provide critique. There are a few changes this season as we are adding a radio show component to The Lounge. Back from Break! Thanks for tuning in as we return from a short break. On this episode, we have a special guest-Julian. Longtime Lounge listeners will remember Julian from Season 1: March Madness episode about Hardcore Punk. Julian returns with a deep dive into punk and punk adjacent sounds. He talks in length about the Salt Lake City scene of which he was a part of, we discuss the “state of punk” where we highlight contemporary bands, we play a game of ‘Love it or Hate it” with a heavy emphasis on genres like emo, screamo and pop punk and so much more. It was a true improv night and one of the best in our opinion!

Welcome back to The Needle and Groove Lounge. We have a special show this week as we dive into another record label exploration. This week the lounge pays respect the independent record label Fat Possum Records from Oxford, Mississippi. Fat Possum got its start recognizing the artist of the North Mississippi Region, known as the hill country. Hence their early releases focused on highlighting the hill country blues of this region. Now days the label has expanded to include other styles of music. During the Last Call segment it stays relatively chill but that doesn't mean there is not plenty of banter. The new music this week hits a variety of different genres that are sure to hook you in as we continue our full album review format. Tune in and listen to what the fellas are spinning!

On this episode of the Last Call, the fellas engage in their first ever full on album review. One week prior to recording the episode, each of the contributors were asked to spend some time with Pedro the Lion's new release, Havasu, and come prepared to Pound, Sip or No Sip to the entire album! The fellas will continue this format off and on for the remainder of the season. This format allows us to engage in deeper and richer conversation about the album and concept, which is how we truly listen to albums! We hope you enjoy! Additionally, there are three more tracks shared that follow our standard procedure. Plenty of new music to discover!
