Dr. Rana served as an officer in Nepali Army from2003 to 2010 and was deployed as the United Nations Peacekeeper in Haiti in 2010. He also worked as a Refugee Program Officer in Connecticut, USA from 2010 to 2012. Later he went to work in Public Health and Social Services including CDC consulting in Georgia, USA from 2013-2020. He was an Asst. Professor at Kennesaw State University, USA from 2016 to 2018 and has now been working as a freelance consultant and educator in Nepal since 2020.

Is Lockdown still an effective way of containing the spread of this virus? Nepal reported eight more Covid-19-related deaths on Thursday, taking the toll to 183. Meanwhile, 1,111 new cases, the most in a single day so far, were recorded in the past 24 hours, taking the national tally to 35,529. Kathmandu Valley recorded 377 new infections, highest for a single day so far, according to the Health Ministry.
We are all in this together. We would like to take a moment of silence and offer condolences to the lives lost in Nepal and across the world and pray for the speedy recovery of the infected ones. Our thoughts and thank you to all the essential workers who are working tirelessly and diligently to help stop the spread.

Choice of alternative energy motor vehicles over conventional motors has been growing rapidly over the past ten years, with the global stock of electric passenger cars passing 5 million in 2018, an increase of 63% from the previous year. Around 45% of electric cars on the road in 2018 were in China – a total of 2.3 million – compared to 39% in 2017. In comparison, Europe accounted for 24% of the global fleet, and the United States 22%.
