Selfcare is not a selfish act - it is a God-centered care of your soul. Intentionally pursue an unhurried life by practicing the 4 disciplines of selfcare;- the discipline of withdrawing- the discipline of exercise- the discipline of sojourning- the discipline of slowing.

Embarking on a journey through the spiritual wilderness often mirrors the Israelites’ passage from Egypt to the Promised Land. In this series, we explore the various stages of the Israelites wilderness experience and draw parallels to our own life journeys.
Rev. Nick Korir delves us into the lessons from the Wilderness of Etham (Exodus 14:1-14).
Are you in a fix, is pharaoh after you, has the world surrounded you, is it a night time?Do you feel trapped? Are you at a dead end? In terms of hope; in terms of a relationship; in terms of a job; in terms of a dream; in terms of a habit; in terms of your finances, in terms of your faith?
What do you do when you find yourself at a dead end?
Dead-Ends can actually become Divine-Beginnings

Its TIME: there’s a time when your compass meets your clock – when God gives clear direction and says it’s time to move: it’s TIME to accomplish God’s purposes.
The journey of the children of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land – each Wilderness had many lessons for them and also for us, in our own Life Journeys.
This message is for anyone who has been on a long journey with God.
You’ve experienced God’s salvation (Red Sea), you have experienced testing (Mara), Rest (Elim), provision (Manna) and faced battle (Rephidim), and just when you thought you were about to enter your land of promise; God puts you on PAUSE.

Let’s talk about SIN.Let’s talk about HUNGER.Let’s talk about the Israelites journey through the wilderness of Sin; their cycle of sin, their grumbling, and the lessons.
Scripture: Exodus 16:11 – 36
Israel has made it out of Egypt, their compass leads them to travel towards Mount Sinai, where God first spoke to Moses in the burning bush. They start complaining and grumbling about lack of water and food running out.
Sounds familiar?Grumbling distorts the past: you begin to forget the reality of your past bondage in the face of your present fears. When you are hungry, thirsty & tired; when you don’t get what you want; when you feel unappreciated, overlooked, uncared for, your default is to grumble & whine.
The real problem is: we don’t trust God.God never promised to remove obstacles from our path – he promised to be with us through whatever we encounter in life.
-
Let’s talk about disappointment….
Have you ever been disappointed?
Think about the Israelites – on one day Israel is fresh from a great victory. Pharaoh’s army has been obliterated by the Red Sea. The children of Israel are now safely out of Egyptian territory, with no one in pursuit of them; they are now finally free. Moses and his followers are finally able to relax. From this point forward the pace of the Exodus slows down considerably. They are no longer in a hurry, no longer on the run.
They have a cause to celebrate, they are on the mountaintop.
Having rested and recuperated from their all-night ordeal at the Red Sea, Moses rallies the people to begin to move again.
He leads them into the Wilderness of Shur, where the Israelites face yet another trial.
