There is so much out there right now around nervous system regulation and so much of it is about how to calm yourself down, essentially how to be peaceful or regulated, and a lot of it is like breathing and calming yourself down, and it feels like just another way that women are trying to control their natural, healthy responses.

I don’t think your anger, rage, anxiousness, or dysregulation is a problem we need to fix with control. And the more we try to shame or repress these nervous system responses- the more exhausted and dysregulated we typically become.

Has anyone ever told you to calm down when you were upset? To not worry about something when you were in an anxiety attack?

Did that make you actually feel better or worse? This is what so many of us are trying to do with the tool of “nervous system regulation”

To regulate your nervous system, we don’t need to control or suppress it, we get to relate to it and work with it. We can learn to move and work with it, not against it.

This is what actually helps us feel and act better. It’s how we create a nervous system that is responsive and not just stuck in trauma triggers or the emotional roller coaster. In this episode I'll teach you to work with your somatic nervous system, your animal body, and your emotional intelligence to be able to feel your agency, choice, and safey. I'll teach you to work with your nervous system and not against it.

Want to learn how your nervous system is impacting your boundaries?

If you are struggling with setting boundaries, it may be because you are jumping into boundaries around behavior without ever feeling into what you control and don’t control. Before you can set and hold boundaries with other people, first let’s learn how to hold boundaries with ourselves. Emotional boundaries are the way we stop breaking our own boundaries which is typically at the root of most women’s burnout.

If you struggle with boundaries or are a recovering people pleaser, perfectionist, or co-dependant - this episode is for you my friend. From one empath to another, let’s learn how to use our sensitivity as a gift and not something that has us constantly burned out or emotionally breaking down.

    Highlights and topics:

+ What is yours and what is not yours

+ Feeling the separation of self and other

+ Centering your energy back on what you control

+ Detaching from trying to control and manipulate the emotions of others

+ How emotional boundaries create freedom and healthy boundaries from over-responsibility, and people pleasing, and codependency

+How leaky energetic boundaries are impacting your parenting

+Being able to feel and own your emotions and needs

+Self awareness vs hyper-fixation and over-intellectualizing (get out of your head and into your body and your life)

    Energetic boundaries

Is this mine? Feeling SELF and OTHER: feeling and noticing separation and responsibility Empath boundaries: your emotions and others emotions Mug boundaries: how to hold space for other people big emotions without taking them on The pause: finding and noticing the urgency and coming back into choice to stay out of the automatic fight, flight, freeze, fawn The tension of your needs vs your kids needs - the inconvenience of having limits needs, and feelings that interrupt what you are doing Feeling when you are too close or too far from othersTriggers and feeling the present vs the past Somatic pendulation
