With the NFL draft tonight, we talked about Shedeur Sanders dropping and reasons why that may be happening. A month ago Boomer thought, ‘how do the Giants not take him?’, and now we don’t know if he’s even going in the first round. Maybe the Giants don’t want that kind of noise around their quarterback position.
-
Noted draftnik Al Dukes' take on Abdul Carter (thinks he’s too small for the NFL). Jerry also has clips from Mike Ditka asking Boomer questions after a 1993 game.
-
A caller wonders if Phil Simms would unretire his number to give to Abdul Carter. We don’t think Phil would ever allow that. Includes the usual Phil related hilarity.
-
Mets trainers found Edwin Diaz has one leg longer than the other. They said they fixed it, which doesn’t make any sense at all. In the final segment of the hour, we took a call from a doctor on someone having one leg longer than the other.
-
We talked about the draft in which the Giants took Kadarius Toney. Gio wonders if anyone actually talked to him before they picked him. We talked more about Shedeur Sanders dropping, and reasons why. Phil Simms told us earlier this week that the only reason he’s dropping is because NFL people are evaluating him, not media members. Boomer thinks there’s been more due diligence on him than anyone else in the draft.
-
The Mets keep rolling, winning their seventh straight after a walk off hit by Marte. Edwin Diaz left with hip cramps, which we’ve never heard of. The Yankees won in Cleveland and Paul Goldschmidt had himself a 3-hit day and Judge had a triple. Game 3 has the Knicks in Detroit tonight and Thibs was asked about Karl-Anthony Towns’ lack of performance in the fourth quarter. The Islanders have fired their radio broadcast team and it looks like they won’t have one next season.
-
Gio had ‘Instagram scuttlebutt’ involving Joe Schoen’s son. He put out a highlight reel of Jaxson Dart. Then it was deleted and his account went private. Gio goes through who the Giants and Jets will take.

Hour 1
Mets win 6th straight, fueled by Alonso's offense and league-best pitching. Despite the early season, fans are packing the stadium. Talk of Alonso's contract extension heats up. Meanwhile, the Yankees lose again. Jaxson Dart eyes the Giants. NBA playoffs recap. Lou Lamoriello out as Islanders GM. Callers debate Boomer's Acuna take and a Brooklyn-to-Long Island move.
Hour 2
Todd McShay sees a path for Giants to draft Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart, who shares a Utah high school with Zach Wilson. Gio wonders if Utah personalities fit NY teams, recalling a 'pudgy' note on Dart from Phil Simms. Jerry's update: Yankees lose (Judge misplay), Mets win again (Alonso RBI double), Dart staying home for draft. NBA playoff recap. The hour ends with Yankees losing another despite Judge's hits.
Hour 3
NFL draft buzz intensifies with trade rumors. Boomer thinks Giants prefer Shough over Dart. Brian Baldinger predicts a top-5 trade. Gio's intel is quiet. Building construction noise is disruptive. Jerry's update: Mickelson/Allen golf audio, Purdy contract debate, Jerry Jones on Mavericks/Luka. Yankees lose again, Mets win 6th straight (Vientos RBI). Spike Eskin unhappy with Harper's at-bat vs. Diaz. NBA playoff recap. Haliburton responds to the "overrated" label. The hour ends with Gio on Darren Rovell's strange donut line story at "I'm donut?".
Hour 4
Tomorrow: NFL draft and Knicks playoff game. Gio wishes the two were split over two nights. Discussion about finding Eddie's replacement, Gio's approach likened to QB evaluation. Boomer suggests Gio host with a friend over summer. Jerry's final update: Mets win 6th straight, Yankees lose again (Volpe's misplay), Jaxson Dart on potentially joining Giants, Jerry Jones' media appearance (death reference, blaming O-line). Moment of the Day: Topics involve penis and feces. Gio anticipates a big Knicks performance. Caller asks if the NFL educates rookies on money. Jordan Davis filmed a music video with Jim Nantz and Peyton Manning. -

Sure we're still doing the football thing since the draft is tomorrow but eventually this all comes to a horrific moment of the day featuring the penis and poop. No bueno.
