Welcome back for the final segment of our season one finale!
Today, we're building on the story we began last week, where we learned about the life of Jerry Kolpek. This week, we're learning about the depth of negligence that Jerry's doctor was charged with. And we're not just talking about a malpractice case - while it may have been called manslaughter in the courts, to many of the families involved, it was straight up murder.
This is the story of the fall of Dr Robert Levy.

Jerry's story is part one of our special, two part season finale while we wrap up season one. It's hard to believe we've heard so many stories so far!Jerry's story was one I found particularly touching - there are so many positive words I could use to describe Jerry, and a few of those would be: honorable, loyal, loving, committed to family, and avid Gopher fan.
While Jerry's story is intertwined with a very large and shocking lawsuit that resulted in a prison sentence, for this week, we're not going there just yet. This week is dedicated to just knowing who Jerry was and what he meant to all those around him. This is Jerry's story.
Next week will be our final episode of the season, where we'll learn about the aftermath of one of the most shocking malpractice lawsuits in recent years.

Today's episode is a little different - we're covering a historical case of a young woman who survived against all odds after being frozen alive in rural Minnesota. Oh, and we might talk about frogs, because, well, frogs are cool too.

Eric and Shannon were college sweethearts who planned to spend their lives together. They had settled down, had kids, and Eric landed his dream job as a pilot for Air Canada. Neither of them could have known how a few seemingly simple oversights in Eric's medical care would change the life of the entire family, forever.
This episode is being presented as a special two part series, with exclusive interview content and updates from Shannon herself.

Hey interns!!It's been a crazy time for me lately, between working a lot at the hospital, and taking care of my own sick kids. I've been working on researching and writing episodes, so I have a lot of content in the pipeline - but I haven't had a quiet moment to record for you this week. We're about halfway through Season One already - it's hard to believe! I'm going to take this week off, which should give me the time to get more episodes recorded and all lined up.
As always, if you have cases you think would make a good episode, email me at [email protected]
See you next Thursday!

The Marousek family story is one that really hit hard for me. A young, growing family experiences a medical scare when their infant daughter suffers a head trauma at her daycare center. But it wasn't the accident - it was the medical malpractice that followed - that would change all of their lives forever. I also uncovered some legislation around Nebraska's malpractice laws that has the same stinky scent as the Florida Free Kill law we talked about a few weeks ago.And of course, Jay joins us again this week as our co-host!

Today, we're going to discuss another rare medical condition - sirenomelia. It's a rare and highly fatal condition where babies are born appearing as literal mermaids. We're joined today by a new special guest you haven't heard before - 11-year-old Deacon. He's going to add some commentary for us, and I've left a little tidbit of our "after wraps" conversation after the closing credits - enjoy!

Today's story is a very recent one I stumbled across. While the story deals with both misogyny and misdiagnosis, it has the most incredible undercurrent of the strength of sisterhood. This is the story of how Dylana Cook-McCartney, with her sister Shaylah by her side, refused to be told she didn't know what was happening with her body.

Brittany was a bright, up and coming lawyer just about to graduate from law school, when she fell mysteriously ill following a birthday celebration. Episode features our special guest host, Jason, asking all your burning questions!

When Karen Cain was concerned about her health due to her family medical history, she trusted the professionals when they told her she needed diagnostic testing done. What she didn't know, was the risk that posed to her health - ultimately leading to a malpractice lawsuit centered specifically around informed consent.
