Living with chronic health conditions can be a challenging cross to bear for both our personal and professional lives, but we’re leaning into the ways we can find the strength to persevere. We explore how nurturing our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being aligns with creating a closer relationship with God, and how our pain can be a tool to help encourage ourselves and others. Join us as we embrace the power of hope in Christ, both in the possibility of healing in this life and our complete renewal in the next.
How can we trust God and maintain a steadfast faith while praying for wisdom and healing when our health is deteriorating, and we're longing for life to be the way it used to be? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by our guest Tia Magno-Wallen in the Magnify Studio for Ep 63 ‘When Your Body Doesn’t Know the Plan: Big Ambition and A Chronic Condition’.

We’re unpacking the difference between societal and biblical views on sex and intimacy. We’ll explore the idea of true liberation, and touch on where modern feminism sometimes misses the mark. We’re getting real about embracing second chances, healing, and creating a deeper, more authentic connection with ourselves and our Creator. This week Jade Tendo tells us her experience of entering and exiting the sex work industry, and switching lanes to profess the Gospel.
How do we process and let go of sexual shame connected to the way we used to live? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Jade Tendo in the Magnify Studio for Ep 62 ‘From Sex Worker to Pastor: Why My Past Doesn't Define My Future’.

Many of us always feel like we’re constantly striving to do better and be better in our careers, in our families, and in our love lives. While there’s nothing wrong with being ambitious to be the best for ourselves, and those around us, we can sometimes find ourselves neglecting our spiritual wellbeing in the midst of trying to have it all as women. We want to see us all thriving in every part of our lives, and find out what lies at the heart of us being at the top of our game.
Can women embrace motherhood and entrepreneurship evenly, or will there always be a sense of lack or guilt for not feeling fulfilled in one area? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Fernanda Guimarães in the Magnify Studio for Ep 61 ‘The Juggle Is Real: How I Manage Motherhood, Identity & Ambition’.

It’s a sobering thought that death is one of the few certainties of life, and most of us have or will have to experience losing someone close to us. Even as women who believe in the hope of eternal life, it doesn’t make grieving any less painful. Our real and raw feelings aren’t a sign of slow or stagnant healing, but a sign that we cherished someone so dearly and miss them being present in our lives. This week we hear Sarah’s touching story of losing her husband in her 30s and navigating that as a woman, wife and mother.
How can we find balance in taking the time to process life-shattering events and honouring the loss of life, while not being wholly defined by it? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Sarah Stephen in the Magnify Studio for Ep 60 ‘How To Rise After the Loss of a Spouse’.

There can be a lot of confusion around how we expand our finances and take the first step towards passive income. Some of us might even feel concerned with moral and ethical questions focusing on if biblical values can overlap with an abundant bank account. With the cost of living increasing, we can use wisdom and take practical steps to ensure a good quality of life despite the state of struggling economies across the globe.
How can we build wealth to help safeguard our financial future and be a blessing to others? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Solafunmi Sosanya-Lawal in the Magnify Studio for Ep 59 ‘The Blueprint to Growing Your Finances’.

There can be tension in feeling like we don’t fit in perfectly in different parts of our lives, whether that be at work, at social events or even at Church. The pressure to conform and be like everyone else can be tempting, but we want to remember that God made us all uniquely and wants us to celebrate that. It’s our job to show up authentically and know that there is power in taking up space in both spiritual and secular circles, especially when we want to be a bridge for people to recognise and connect with Christ.
Why do some Christians think that having a relationship with Jesus means losing our artistic expressiveness and personality? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Natalia Rodriguez in the Magnify Studio for Ep 58 ‘Creativity is Key: Following Jesus Shouldn't Be Boring’.

We can often take life for granted whether we’re going through heavenly highs or laborious lows, and forget that tomorrow isn’t promised. In this episode we are joined by Esther Longe who gives an account of before, during and after she experienced, and miraculously survived a plane crash in 2006. She shares her struggles with survivor’s guilt, and sheds light on her emotional and spiritual growth that took place years after the accident. We discuss the importance of unpacking distressing moments, and also talk about how we can use our personal experiences to help others on their healing journeys.
Where do we draw the line between re-living and acknowledging trauma, and growing from it? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Esther Longe in the Magnify Studio for Ep 57 ‘I'm Part of the 10% That Survived the Plane Crash’.

There are many ways to build a thriving personal brand, but we wanted to lean into the simplistic approach of rooting everything we do in faith, authenticity, and fulfillment. We want to be ambitious women who have an honest digital presence that reflects our personal values. When we press into God and find out what truly matters to us as unique individuals, we can begin to cultivate meaningful experiences and content that inspires others to find success in living their own lives with sincerity and joy.
How can we find the balance between authenticity online and real life, and how much power is there in discerning when and what to share? We enter marriage with the belief that it’s a lifelong commitment, but it requires two people to work at it for it to be a successful union. In this episode we hear Ashley’s story of how there were signs of a deteriorating relationship, and how she finally came to accept it was over on Christmas day. We learn about the journey of healing, developing, and finding her worth on the other end of divorce. Heartbreak isn’t pleasant, but it can unlock clarity and wisdom that strengthens our relationship with God, who never leaves us.
How can we not fixate on the breakdown of a serious relationship, and move forward in a way that liberates us to be ready for the joy that’s waiting for us in the future? There’s a wealth of advice online, and offline about how we should date intentionally with the goal of marriage, but sometimes it can feel outdated, or like we’ve turned dating into a tick box exercise. We’re taking a look at the role of mutual respect, attraction, common interests and spiritual alignment, while also discussing why maintaining a God centered marriage is a constant commitment. It’s time we open our eyes and confront the differences between someone with potential, and someone who has potential to have a successful relationship with you.
How do we discern someone who’s husband material, and not just someone who acts the part? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Magnify’s founder Ruth Yimika Afolabi in the Magnify Studio for Ep 53 ‘How did I know he was the one?’

Many of us are inquisitive women who are seeking to find peace and purpose in the world around us. For some of us this has led us down a path of exploring different faiths, philosophies and practises. We can sometimes feel ourselves pulling away from what we view as more traditional religion because we feel it’s not personal enough, but that’s when we need to dig deeper. Self-discovery, self-actualisation and commercialised New Age trends won’t fulfill us, but we know something that can.
How do we shift from entertaining aspects of general spirituality and cultural Christianity to authentically choosing to follow Jesus? A lot of emphasis is placed on the topics of money and marriage, but when we combine the two we are able to magnify many existing issues, and expose how deep our core values really go. Financial expectations and talking about how we should spend and save isn’t always comfortable, but it is necessary to have a thriving relationship that honours God and our spouse. So much anxiety and fear comes from money dysmorphia, a lack of financial literacy or personal experiences with poverty or debt. We’re learning how to deepen our faith and manage our finances better by tapping into Biblical money management tips.
How do we have open and honest conversations about finances that lead to positive outcomes, when it can be awkward to bring up in a relationship? There’s so many angles to why some women are labeled as strong. It can be used as a compliment that aims to empower us, and other times it’s a dig to reduce our femininity. We can often wonder how our perception from others and ourselves impacts our professional and romantic lives, particularly when it has been suggested that men can feel less important or intimidated by self-assured and self-sufficient women. We want to focus on being secure and confident in who we are, while focusing on mutual respect and faith-focused foundations of treating others amicably regardless of how they perceive us.
How do we successfully work alongside men who are intimidated by our character or presence? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Jayne Doherty in the Magnify Studio for Ep 50 ‘Relationship Dynamics Matter: Why Strong Women Need to Be with Secure Men'.

It’s not rare to feel like we were born with an innate passion or drive. In fact, many of us have spent most of our lives trying to navigate where we should channel this energy. In the modern age, we can find ourselves pouring our time and effort into our careers, which can easily lead to burnout. Dabbling in extremes of laziness or overworking are both harmful, but we wanted to talk about the importance of honouring our interests and dreams with a balanced and faith-filled approach.
How can we embrace our work ethic without it wearing us out, especially when we want to build something significant? Most of us will spend a large majority of our time working, so it’s important that we make wise decisions regarding the environment we’re in. Thinking about deviating from our current career path can be met with a range of emotions, from confused to excited, fearful to liberated, and exhausted to energised. While it’s normal to consider other pathways, we also know that encountering challenges doesn't always mean it’s time to escape. Seeking counsel from God is vital in making key decisions. We also need to take into consideration that some jobs don’t feel like they’re serving us, but that doesn’t always equate to a lack of purpose.
How can we differentiate between having the courage to stay in a job when needed and the courage to leave and thrive elsewhere? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Donita Boateng in the Magnify Studio for Ep 48 ‘Embracing Change: Leaving a Job That Limits My Potential'.

There’s a thousand opinions on what Biblical relationships should look like, and we wanted to look at what a strong and thriving marriage consists of when the woman is the higher earner. How can we turn some traditions and gender expectations on its head while still placing mutual respect, trust and a focus on God’s plans for our lives at the core? Oftentimes the focus on strong women is related to unwavering independence, but we wanted to take a look into why strong women and their counterparts are powerful when they receive high quality support from their spouses.
What if being a woman and the higher earner in a relationship wasn’t a problem, but a benefit? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Kat Tait in the Magnify Studio for Ep 47 ‘Unstoppable Together: The Benefits of Being a Strong Woman in a Relationship'.

Life can seem uninspiring and start to feel monotonous when we’re chasing our tails by living paycheck to paycheck. Once we get to a point where we feel like we’re surviving rather than thriving, it’s likely that it’s time to start reassessing our career options, without limiting ourselves to the 9-5 box. We all have talents and areas of expertise that can be built on to expand our earnings, while using our main job as our base income. Most of us are capable, but need to apply wisdom to securing financial stability for us, and our loved ones by removing any limiting mindsets we have.
How can we make the jump to expand our current salary and generate additional income by aligning our strengths with a thoughtful plan? Many of us have a strong sense that tells us there is more for our skills and jobs. This can stem from a place of dissatisfaction, or be a clear calling to take a leap of faith and live out our purpose. We want to make well informed decisions about changing course, so we can use our gifts and talents in a fruitful way, and show up as our best version for ourselves, others and God. It can be tough to step out of our comfort zones when we want to shield ourselves from potential failure, but when we do that we’re not leaving room for faith-filled growth that strikes the perfect balance between crazy and calculated.
How can we really know when it’s time to make a big career move, and where do we begin? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Dior Bediako in the Magnify Studio for Ep 45 ‘How To Know When It's Time for a Career Change: Unlocking Our Pivoting Potential.
