  • In this week’s sharing of The Lucky Dipper, I sit with Dan who shares his life changing moment which began in 2010. Dan was caught in an avalanche while skiing, leaving him with a fractured pelvis, a collapsed lung and massive internal bleeding. He was saved by his friends, who were able to organise a helicopter rescue and transport him to a landing zone. The accident was such a foundationally pivotal moment in his life that he has a hard time even identifying or articulating how it affected his life. He continues to integrate and heal from the experience to this day.

He is a care-giver and a healer (though part of him still cringes at that term). He has worked as a ski patroller, mountain guide, Emergency Medical Technician, intensive care nurse, addiction medicine nurse, public health nurse, and full-time parent.

He tends towards the cognitive and holds a Master in Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Arts degree. His most recent iteration finds him trying to be more present in his body and living in Portugal with his wife and 2 kids (and soon a new dog!). Apparently he also likes making parenthetical comments.

Dan is now a transformational coach, specialising in addiction recovery and psychedelic integration. He is also a Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®️) provider and SourcePoint Therapy®️ energy work practitioner. And to keep things interesting, he makes craft chocolate and cacao. Someday he will have a website and will likely give in to social media at some point, but for now the best way to contact him is via email.

  • In this week’s sharing of The Lucky Dipper, I sit with Natalia who shares her life changing moment which began in the end of 2022 with a shock received from doctors. It all started while surfing and feeling tired and 2 weeks later I was diagnosed with cancer. As shocking as it sounds it has been a wonderful experience.

At the time, Natalia had a wonderful life-partner (Mart) and two beautiful children. The outer family flew in to support the whole family in every way possible.

She is nature and ocean lover and currently involved in some amazing projects such as the world surf reserves and supporting parents in the process of dealing with cancer.

  • In this week’s sharing of The Lucky Dipper, I sit with Katy who shares her life changing moment which began in 2015 where she lived in Kenya, and experienced a life-changing, near-death moment that changed the trajectory of her life.

It led her to question everything: why are we here, what is the purpose of life, and how do we take care of each other and the world? Since then, she has focused her professional and academic attention on education, peacebuilding and mental health. She is the founder of a global community called The Joyful Activists, to support humanitarians, activists and charity people to look after their wellbeing in the same way their activism looks after the world.p

Katy is a multi award-winning activist, consultant and trauma practitioner. She is passionate about equality, mental health, community building, and finding the joy in the everyday. Things that bring her joy: cold swims, bookshops, sausage dogs in slow motion, when the sun comes out after the rain, the perfect flat white, the exhale in savasana, sunrise surfs and learning languages.

She trained originally as a teacher, moving into youth work, and later specialising in the impact of trauma on our social and emotional development.

  • Welcome to the first Season of the first Sharing.

I, Sean, The Lucky Dipper, Co-creator share my Life Changing Moment/Near Death Experience of a surfing/bodyboarding accident/incident where I was 100% paralysed floating in the big 8-10ft surf at the beach called Riberia d'llhas, Ericeira, Portugal.

The journey from friends rescuing me, lying on the hospital bed questioning everything about life to which I embarked on a discovery process, peeling away the layers of conditioning to allow my true essence to rise.

I learnt to slow down, listen to my intuition, and think from my heart. This shift in perspective allowed me to embrace my emotions and connect with my whole Human Being.

Baby slow flow steps are the ones for me.

I would love to hear your thoughts and others who have had Life Changing Moments/Near Death Experiences as I am open to sharing your journey in this podcast
