Tips from Earl:
His Big Tip: read everything but believe nothing. What I mean is-you get a lot of advice but don't believe anything until you test it out yourself. Again, it's good to learn from other people, but test it for yourself. Another Tip: Even if you are using something automated-don't make it look automated. Take the time to make it look real. So we rank for certain keywords, so that it will get natural traffic.Show Notes with Takeaways:
(3:27) What would you say is something that's a valuable tip for local SEO’s?
Read everything but believe nothing. What I mean is-you get a lot of advice but don't believe anything until you test it out yourself. Again, it's good to learn from other people, but test it for yourself.(6:24) What led you to starting your own business and SEO of all things?
I left school at 18 and I didnt go to college, I served in the British Air Force for 10 years as a surgical technician, so my working background has always been in the medical profession. After that I went into medical sales for 15 years. I worked my way up to the sales and marketing director-I had a budget for marketing for my company and that budget included managing the website and I had to keep paying for the site to be updated. So I learned how to do this myself instead of paying people to do this. So I started to learn HTML. I was traveling too often and wanted to be home with my son who was 3 at the time. My first company was actually a technical consulting company, and I continued to learn how to build sites-and soon we were getting calls asking for requests to build sites.(14:30) What would you say are some of the things you’ve really hit on that have worked in terms o

Tips from Dan:
His Big Tip: Go on the Chrome extension store and it’s easy to find uncompleted extensions and reach out to the developer and buy the extension because they still have their lists that go along with it. Then you can support the extension the way it is or reach out to the list or steer them in a new direction of something similar to what they originally signed up for. Another Tip: By doing more than just SEO, such as retargeting through email or chat bots, you are adding more value for your clients, which is better for you because you are stacking these benefits which are getting your clients leads.Show Notes with Takeaways:
(2:03) What would you say is something that's a valuable tip for local SEO’s?
Finding extensions via Chrome and buying the uncompleted or un-updated extensions and getting their lists. It's a quick way to build an email list. You didn't just buy a list, you bought the business so you can email them through the extension platform and let them know there's an update.(5:10) Are there a lot of different extensions across different industries?
Yes, there's no real shortage across the board. In the Chrome store, you can find the developer, you can find the last time it was updated and you can work from there-Just use the search function in the chrome store, and you’ll most likely find something.(8:06) Tell us about your journey-how did the growth of your agency evolve?
I got out of the army and wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go-I kind of had experience buying and selling on ebay so I knew there was an opportunity to make money online. Lots of self education and studying- through this I found voids in the market where people were asking for things to be automated. So that’s how the software side of it started to come out. With this I became a student of SEO. And eventually I had people reaching out to me saying “this software is great, but I don’t have the time, can yo -

His Big Tip: NO “hat” SEO-tweak your mindset and focus on results-not about Google's terms of service. Another Tip: There is no such thing as duplicate content. There is only the original (the master copy) everything else is then a copy of that content, but Google will not punish you for republishing that content.Show Notes with Takeaways:
(1:58) What would you say is something that's a valuable tip for local SEO’s?
No Hat SEO-a lot of people spend their time arguing in chats about black, white or gray SEO. If you’re thinking along those terms, you need to tweak that mindset and focus on results.(6:14) How did you get to where you’re at now? Can you share insight in where you started-what did you do before SEO?
I was a business manager for a company but then the company got sold. I was put in a cubicle. I didn’t like that so I quit and moved to Costa Rica I have a degree in computer programming (just as a background) and I was at a party and a guy asked if I could help him get more traffic to his site and I said sure! And that's where it started.(9:18) What's important for Google today? Can you give some insight on what people can do right now to see results?
At the foundational level (with Google) -it’s still all the same. If you get carried away with all of the changes Google is making, you are falling into their trap of not paying attention to the simple things that work on the web. I focus on the math.(11:38) Is there something people can do today that can start g

His Big Tip: Optimize via the semantic web- create entities through structured data Another Tip: Important to have organization or corporation markup and local business markup-you also should have different designation of business types as well. Then start to get posted or published on a lot of other sites out there that validate your entity (Your social media sites are good for this)Show Notes with Takeaways:
(1:29) Share a valuable tip you can WOW us with about Local SEO?
We’re going further and further into the semantic web with Google's newest algorithm update called BERT -and it’s all about entity validation. I’ve heard you can't optimize for BERT, and that's not true, it's about optimizing an entity-the semantic web entities. One way to optimize semantic web entities is through structured data. Iframes act as dofollow links-bidirectional dofollow links.(3:25) Can you breakdown a little more what the semantic web is and how we’ve had this move toward entities
Semantic web is: a shift from strings to things. Meaning: Google has shifted from using a query of search strings of keywords to things, which its identifying as objects or entities. For the semantic web to understand how there is a relationship between these objects structured data must be used.(7:45) Can you give some tips on where you would start on establishing their entity?

Her Big Tip: Check to see if you have more than 1 page optimized for the same keyword. Many sites are stuck because Google is confused on which page to rank for a particular keyword. Another Tip: Use ahrefs to catch cannibalization pretty quickly by checking if you have pages coming in and out of the index. Tip 3: The secret is there really is no secret! Stick to a repeatable system so you can stay focused on what needs to be done, instead of paying attention to all the other “tricks” out there.Show Notes with Takeaways:
(1:53) What’s a valuable tip about local SEO you can share?
The first thing we are seeing on sites that are stuck in the rankings is: They’re targeting the same keywords on multiple pages, because they think they are creating relevancy. Don't do this! Example: Say you're taking a homepage for Austin Roofing and they want to create relevancy in their own website, so they create service pages that target Austin roofing, and they target it in the meta title, in the URL and within the content, and they will go even further and talk about it in their blog-They feel if they mention Austin roofing, over and over-they are creating relevant content. But what y -

(1:43) What’s a valuable tip about local SEO you can share that will help people make a difference?
Make a GMB Page relevant to points of interest around the city you want to rank in. (You can also do this on your own site too-not just the GMB Listing) GMB LIstings are very location dependant-and even writing an article about a point of interest in that area-it can help your ranking Pull up a map-and look up what are somethings in that area (such as neighborhoods, museums-things that are unique to that location) and have an article written then link from that page to the URL that's in your GMB page on your site-you can also do this with your offpage SEO.(4:28) What lead you into SEO?
I actually did build websites when I was a kid-I built computers-I was into math and science. I did go to school for engineering-mechanical and industrial (More on the statistics side of things-analyzing data) I knew working “for the man-a day job” wasn’t for me. So I quit early 2012 and started getting into having clients-which was a rough start But then things kicked off from the -

His Big Tip: Writing triplets. Triplets go back to how the entity engine finds information about your entities. There’s a writing style they look for called “triplets”: Subject, predicate, object & and when you start writing your brand facts in that manor and putting those “entity pages” -it helps with ranking and relevance. Another Tip: Local Content Silos are super powerful (Internal linking) Tip 3: Encourage clients to get their customers to interact with the google checks-ins with possible incentives to “check in” when at that location.

His Big Tip: Don’t go straight for the large cities and big niches. Work with sub-niches or cities of populations of 150,000-100,000 or less to rank quickly and easily with just a few on page optimizations and backlinks. It will be less work, and you will see results faster. Another Tip: Test everything! Don’t just listen to what you’re hearing. Test it out for yourself, that way when you hear new news, you’ll have the fundamentals down and wont worry- you’ll know how to fix it. Tip 3: Use ahrefs for keyword research Tip 4: Learn the who, not the how-a great way to help you scaleShow Notes with Takeaways:
(2:35) What’s a valuable tip about local SEO you can share with our listeners?
“…Forget the dentist in Chicago, forget the plumber in Dallas, go find the city with like 100,000 population, 150,000 population, even less and find the niche like the home inspection guy, people don’t think about it often” “…they’ll be willing to pay you and you’d be surprised, just with a few good onpage optimization tweaks, maybe a couple of backlinks, maybe no backlinks-you’ll be able to rank and bank for these guys.”(6:03) Share your Journey into SEO
