  • We sit down with Terry Allen Helm — historian, author, genealogist, Cherokee Nation member, and lifelong storyteller — for a powerful conversation that spans Revolutionary War heritage, American commerce, family legacy, and the surprising ways technology and history collide.

This interview is packed with stories that stretch from 1066 England to Roman Caesars, from flat boats on the Arkansas River to data governance in the modern enterprise, and from Patrick Henry’s iconic speech to the dawn of AI.

    US Revolutionary War Roots

Terry traces seven family lines who fought in the Continental Army and state militias — including:

  • In this episode of The Human Journey – Your Story with David Hackett, Victor shares a powerful, deeply human story of resilience, leadership, faith, and purpose.

Victor is an eighth‑generation Texan, a construction executive with nearly 50 years in the industry, and the founder of a ranch that donates hunts to combat veterans, children’s groups, and families facing unimaginable challenges. But before all of that, he was a boy raised by a single mother, stepping into the role of “man of the house” long before he should have had to.

His book, “The Man That I Would Become,” began as a memoir for his grandchildren — but it grew into a platform for something much bigger: men’s mental health, especially in the construction industry, where suicide rates now exceed those of the military. Victor opens up about leadership, vulnerability, faith, and the moment he realized his life’s mission was to give back.

    We talk about:

Growing up fatherless and finding identity through hardship

A construction career that rose from $16 million to $2.2 billion

The ranch that has now donated 64 hunts to veterans and children

Why men struggle to ask for help — and how to change that

The truth about modern masculinity, vulnerability, and healing

David’s own journey with PTSD and the courage it takes to speak up

This conversation is raw, honest, and full of heart.

It’s a reminder that you’re not alone, and that your story — no matter how heavy — can become someone else’s lifeline.

    Resources mentioned in this episode:

“The Man That I Would Become” — available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and major bookstores

If this conversation speaks to you, share it with someone who needs to hear it.

  • In this episode of The Human Journey — Your Story with David Hackett, leadership coach and soon‑to‑be author Bob opens up about the unconventional, unpredictable, and deeply meaningful path that shaped his upcoming book, The Rickshaw Journey — a memoir‑meets‑coaching guide designed to help people rediscover purpose and reclaim their authentic voice, especially in the second half of life.

Bob shares stories from a childhood marked by instability — multiple moves, multiple family structures, even working at the Playboy Club as a teen and spending summers around the Hells Angels. These experiences became the soil for his life’s work: helping others understand the voices that shaped them and the voice they’re meant to live from now.

    We explore:

The ECFBI Voice Framework — Early voices, Confused voices, Finding your voice, Being your voice, Influencing your voice

Why his book blends memoir with coaching, ending each chapter with a reflection and a gentle action step

The Rickshaw metaphor — slow, immersive, communal, and sometimes uncomfortable, just like real life

Why did he choose not to publish under a Christian label, prioritizing authenticity over categorization

How legacy is really about pouring purpose into others while you’re still here

The men he wrote this book for — outwardly successful, inwardly asking “so what?”

The “sweet spot” of purpose — where your gifts meet what you have a heart for

Bob also grabbed onto David’s AEIOU framework — Amused, Educated, Inspired, Observing, Understanding — and plans to credit it in his work.

📘 The Rickshaw Journey is estimated to release within the next 6–12 months.

🎨 The book cover, inspired by Southern Asia, was photographed in Rogersville, Missouri.

That journey of identity, belonging, and redefining “family” as an adult reshaped how he sees himself, others, and his role as a leader.

On The Human Journey — Your Story, James opens up about what it means to search for your origins without a map, how he navigated the emotional and practical realities of discovering a new family in midlife, and why this experience deepened his empathy, resilience, and commitment to real human connection in business and beyond.

  • Today’s guest is a speaker, coach, and the Director of Group Coaching at Next Level University — someone who has spent the last eight years helping women redefine success in a way that feels aligned, grounded, and deeply personal.

She’s spoken on stages dedicated to health, healing, and personal development, serves as the yearly MC for Next Level Live, and has been featured on more than 100 podcasts.

Her coaching is rooted in a whole‑person approach, weaving together mindset, health, relationships, purpose, and identity. She guides women back to themselves — helping them honor their cyclical nature, rebuild self-worth, and create a version of success that actually feels like theirs.

What makes her work powerful is that she lived it first. After rebuilding her own health and identity following years of chronic illness, she learned that real growth isn’t always pretty — it’s honest, deep, and often uncomfortable. But it’s also where the most meaningful transformation happens.

Her core pillars are simple but life‑changing: self-worth, self-belief, and consistency.

She brings grounded wisdom, lived experience, and actionable insight to every conversation, and she’s here to help us explore what it truly means to create success, peace, and impact in a way that lasts.

  • Guru Yogi Shivan is a modern mystic, master healer, and the living heart of Indimasi Healing Village. He guides those burdened by stress, anxiety, burnout, and silent suffering—not with a diagnosis, but with profound presence, insight, and a path to inner reconnection.

From Martial Arts Master to Spiritual Guide

Born Shivadasan in Vakkom, Kerala, Yogi Shivan is a master of Kalaripayattu, karate, and classical dance. In 1989, he moved to Oman in search of work and became a martial arts and yoga instructor. There, he worked with wealthy individuals who, despite their immense riches, lacked health and happiness. He observed the frustration and sorrow of those who could buy anything with money but still couldn’t find contentment. These experiences led him to realize that material wealth alone could not bring true fulfilment, inspiring him to search for something beyond the physical and mental realms.

    A Sacred Spiritual Lineage

His search led him to Swami Shivajyothi Dharmananda of Sree Kanthimutt, who initiated him into the sacred Siddha Yoga tradition. Through this deeksha, Yogi Shivan mastered the practices of Kundalini awakening and inner transformation. This authentic, time-honored lineage is the foundation of Indimasi’s unique healing philosophy today.

The Experience: A Conversation, not a Diagnosis

Guru Yogi Shivan teaches everyone to bring their attention back to the instinctive impulses, which will lead to the exploration of the realms of the subconscious mind. At Indimasi, he shares a simple truth: true healing begins when the mind quiets and the soul is heard.

Guru Yogi Shivan integrates principles of quantum healing as part of a consciousness-based approach to wellness. He does not claim to perform quantum healing as a technique, but emphasizes that consciousness shapes reality. His guidance helps individuals:

Understand the mind-body connection at a subtle energy level

Recognize how thoughts and emotions influence physical health

Meditation, pranayama, and self-inquiry are being used to shift inner dimensions

Access inner intelligence where healing arises from within

  • Ebrima Jallow is a Minneapolis-based entrepreneur whose path to tech was anything but linear. Born and raised in The Gambia, he found consistency and pride as a painter, first painting custom window frames and later painting MRI machines. Those years of solitary work in a secluded paint booth became his refuge and creative incubator, planting the seeds for the careful craftsmanship and deep thinking he brings to software today.

When the 2008 financial crisis cost him his painting job, Ebrima enrolled in college (fall 2009) to study software development. A lifelong curiosity about the precision of ATMs - machines that effortlessly deliver exactly what you ask for - sparked his fascination with computer science and its power to blend clear instruction with seamless user experience. Even a detour into computer forensics couldn’t derail his passion for product development. Working as a Business Analyst, he learned to translate human needs into functional software, testing and refining ideas until they truly served the people who used them.

That experience, coupled with a love of vintage culture and the stories of the past, led him to create Trippz. Ebrima spent countless hours consuming content from the early 2000s, 90s, and 80s, but he noticed a gap on social media: there was no dedicated space to celebrate and preserve these memories. So he built one. Trippz is the first and only social media app exclusively dedicated to nostalgia, inviting people to take a trip, maybe even a few trips, down memory lane, and he’s excited to explore the science behind nostalgia and memory on The Journey Podcast.

Today, Jenny is the author of gripping medical thrillers inspired by her decades in healthcare and her lived experience as a survivor. Her debut novel, “The Triggering Scent,” follows ICU nurse Abbey Roberts as she returns to work with memory struggles and confronts the dangerous neurosurgeon who destroyed her life. Through her novels, Jenny shines a light on the crisis facing healthcare workers: burnout, short staffing, violence, exhaustion, unrealistic expectations, and the emotional toll of caregiving. Her mission is to spark awareness, conversation, and change.

Jenny also writes a 12‑book children’s series, The Molson and Jenny Adventure Series, available in English and Canadian French. These stories follow 6‑year‑old Jenny and her real-life Maltese dog, Molson, as they explore the world through imagination and adventure.
