  • If you think mindfulness means sitting cross-legged for an hour with a perfectly quiet mind, this episode is going to set you free.

In this episode, we’re breaking down what mindfulness actually is—and why it is so much simpler, more powerful, and more accessible than most people realize. We talk about how to slow down, get out of autopilot, create space between a trigger and your response, and bring more presence into the life you are already living.

We also explore the neuroscience of mindfulness, neuroplasticity, the power of your thoughts, and how brief moments of awareness can support your nervous system, focus, sleep, relationships, food choices, and overall frequency.

Because mindfulness is not about having an empty mind. It is about noticing, returning, and remembering that you always have the power to choose again.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

Why mindfulness and meditation are not the same thing

How to practice mindfulness during everyday activities

Why slowing down helps you respond instead of react

How mindfulness physically changes the brain

How to notice and reframe the thoughts shaping your life

A simple one-minute mindfulness practice you can use anytime

The quote we promised to share:

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.” -Unknown author (popularized by Steven Covey, attributed to the work of Viktor Frankl)

Stay through the end for a 60-second guided practice to reconnect with your breath, your body, and the space within and around you.

Mindfulness is not something you add to your life. It is how you begin fully living it.

  • What are you still holding on to that your body, mind, and soul are tired of carrying?

In this episode of The High Frequency Lifestyle, Jennifer Nicole and Gillian explore the art of letting go — releasing resentment, control, fear, old stories, and the versions of ourselves we’ve outgrown.

Letting go is not giving up. It is not weakness. And it does not mean losing yourself.

Sometimes, letting go is the moment you finally realize what you were holding was never truly you.

In this conversation, Jennifer Nicole and Gillian talk about why releasing can feel so scary, how emotions live in the body, why resistance keeps us stuck, and how surrender can become a powerful act of self-love. They also share simple practices for opening the heart, creating safety in the nervous system, and beginning to release what no longer serves you with more compassion and trust.

This episode is for you if you’ve been feeling heavy, stuck, resentful, resistant, or ready to come back into flow.

    In This Episode

What it really means to let go

    Why releasing can feel scary

How resentment and resistance show up in the body

The difference between surrendering and giving up

    Why forgiveness is not weakness

How to open your heart without abandoning yourself

Simple mantras, reflection prompts, and a heart-opening practice for release

    Practice From This Episode

    Take a breath.

Bring your awareness to your heart.

    And gently repeat:

    I release this with love.

I release what no longer serves me.

Nothing is worth closing my heart over.

  • In this episode of The High Frequency Lifestyle, Jennifer Nicole and Gillian continue the conversation from Episode 6 and go deeper into the nervous system, emotional regulation, and what it really means to feel safe, present, and connected in your body.

If you have ever snapped over something small, gone numb when life felt overwhelming, felt frozen even when you wanted to take action, or wondered why you can’t “just push through,” this episode is for you.

We explore the Window of Tolerance, a concept that helps explain why we move between feeling regulated, anxious, reactive, exhausted, shut down, or disconnected. Instead of seeing these states as character flaws or willpower issues, we look at them as nervous system responses.

This conversation is about building a more resilient, adaptable nervous system—one that can move through stress, return to safety, and expand its capacity over time.

Your nervous system is not broken.
    Your body is responding.
And with the right tools, you can learn how to widen your window and come back home to yourself.

In This Episode, We Talk About

What the Window of Tolerance is and why it matters

    Hyperarousal, hypoarousal, and feeling regulated

Why freeze can look like laziness or low motivation

Why pushing harder is not always the answer

Neuroception and how your body scans for safety or danger

Why co-regulation matters in healing and relationships

Protecting your energy before entering a room, event, or conversation

A grounding practice to help you hold your frequency

This visual will help you understand the three main nervous system zones we talked about in the episode:

Regulated / Ventral Vagal: Present, connected, grounded, open, creative, able to respond instead of react.

Hyperarousal / Sympathetic: Anxious, reactive, wired, overwhelmed, angry, panicked, restless, or on edge.

Hypoarousal / Dorsal Vagal: Numb, shut down, exhausted, frozen, disconnected, unmotivated, or checked out.

    Simple Practices From This Episode

Try one of these the next time you feel frozen, overwhelmed, numb, or disconnected:

Gentle Movement: Wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch, walk slowly, sway, or do a gentle body scan where you tense and release different parts of your body.

Orienting With Your Senses: Look around your space and name what you see, hear, smell, feel, or taste.

Cold Water Reset: Splash cold water on your face or end your shower with a short burst of cool water.

Voice + Sound: Hum, sing, sigh, or play a song that helps shift your energy.

Ground Before You Go: Pause. Feel your feet. Take a breath. Choose the frequency you want to bring with you.

    Grounding Practice From This Episode

Before you go somewhere, take one minute to come back to yourself.

Close your eyes if it feels safe.
    Take a deep breath in.
    Exhale slowly through your mouth.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Imagine yourself rooted into the earth.
    Notice your body.
    Notice your energy.

    Choose an intention:
    “I am here.”
    “I am grounded.”
    “I am holding my frequency.”
“I am moving through the world with love.”

Use this before work, social events, calls, family gatherings, concerts, or anytime you want to feel more connected to yourself before connecting with others.

If this episode resonated with you, follow The High Frequency Lifestyle and share it with someone who needs the reminder that they are not broken, lazy, or failing—their nervous system may simply be asking for something different.

You are capable of widening your window.
You are capable of coming back to yourself.
    You are enough.

  • Are you exhausted but can't wind down? Stressed but can't get motivated? You're not alone — and you're definitely not broken. In Part 1 of this two-part series, Jennifer Nicole and Gillian break down what nervous system regulation actually means, why your body is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, and how modern life keeps you stuck in survival mode without you even realizing it. From fight-or-flight to freeze state, we're covering the science and giving you three simple tools to start regulating today — plus a live grounding practice to bring you back to your body right now.

🎙️ You already have everything you need within you. We're just here to guide you back home.

    ✦ In This Episode:

What your autonomic nervous system is actually doing behind the scenes

Sympathetic vs. parasympathetic — and why balance is everything

The vagus nerve: your body's built-in brake system

Why stress is real or perceived (and your body can't tell the difference)

3 practical tools to regulate your nervous system starting today

Live technique: a quick guided Om practice you can return to anytime you need a sense of calm and grounding

✦ 5 Nervous System Regulation Techniques:

    1. Physiological Sigh (Double Inhale Breath)

Inhale fully through the nose, then sneak in a second short inhale on top, then exhale slowly and completely through the mouth. The fastest evidence-based way to downregulate your nervous system — one breath can shift your state.

    2. Box Breathing (4-4-4-4)

Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat 4 rounds. Activates the parasympathetic nervous system and calms the mind instantly.

    3. Sensory Grounding (5-4-3-2-1)

Name 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, 1 you taste. Pulls you out of your head and into your body in real time — the only place regulation actually happens.

    4. Vagal Toning — Hum, Sing or Gargle

The vagus nerve runs through your throat. Humming, singing, or gargling activates it directly — no quiet room or special equipment needed. Do it in the car, in the shower, anywhere.

    5. Slow, Mindful Movement

Gentle intentional movement — a slow walk, stretching, or lightly shaking the body — helps discharge stored stress energy and signals to your nervous system that the threat has passed. Especially powerful for moving out of freeze state.

  • In this episode of The High Frequency Lifestyle, Gillian and Jennifer Nicole are talking about one of our favorite topics: how food affects your energy, mood, body, brain, gut, and overall frequency.

Food is so much more than calories, macros, or something to “be good” or “bad” about. Every bite you take becomes information for your body. It communicates with your hormones, your blood sugar, your gut bacteria, your immune system, your brain chemistry, your inflammation pathways, and your energy production.

In this conversation, we reframe food from restriction and diet culture into something much more powerful: nourishment, communication, energy, and body wisdom.

We talk about how food breaks down into nutrients your body uses to create energy, build hormones, support neurotransmitters, fuel your cells, repair tissue, support digestion, and regulate mood. We also dive into why blood sugar balance matters, how fiber feeds your gut microbiome, why colorful foods are so powerful, and how eating a variety of plants can support gut health and overall wellness.

This episode is for you if you’ve ever wondered why certain meals make you feel energized, focused, and grounded — while others leave you feeling foggy, anxious, bloated, tired, or craving more.

Your body is always giving you feedback. The goal is not more food rules. The goal is learning how to listen.

Food is not just fuel. Food is information. And every bite is a conversation between you and your body.

In This Episode, We Talk About:

How food affects your energy, mood, and frequency

Why food is more than calories or macros

How protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients support your body

The connection between blood sugar balance and mood

How food can contribute to or calm inflammation

Why fiber supports digestion, gut health, cravings, immunity, and metabolism

The connection between the gut, serotonin, and brain chemistry

Why colorful foods contain powerful plant compounds

The importance of eating a variety of plants

How to build a balanced plate with protein, fiber, healthy fat, and color

Why your nervous system state affects digestion

How to tune into how food makes you feel before and after eating

    Save This From The Episode:

Balanced Plate Formula: Protein + Fiber + Healthy Fat + Color

Food Feedback Question: Before eating: How hungry am I?After eating: How do I feel?

High Frequency Reminder: You do not need more food rules. You need more awareness.

Before your next meal, take one deep breath.

Notice your food. Notice the colors. Notice how hungry you feel. Notice what your body is asking for. Set an intention to nourish yourself with presence.

This is not about eating perfectly. This is about creating one mindful moment before you eat.

Your body is always listening. Your food is always speaking. Are you ready to hear the conversation?

  • Learning to listen to your body is one of the most powerful parts of healing — and in this episode of The High Frequency Lifestyle, Jennifer Nicole and Gillian show you how.

So many of us have been taught to push through, ignore symptoms, override our needs, second-guess our gut feelings, and look outside of ourselves for every answer. But your body has been communicating with you all along — through your energy, digestion, emotions, intuition, cravings, tension, fatigue, resistance, and those quiet inner nudges you can't always explain.

This conversation is all about reconnecting with your body, rebuilding self-trust, strengthening your mind-body connection, and learning how to recognize the wisdom that already lives within you.

We talk about intuition, gut feelings, nervous system awareness, somatic awareness, breathwork, journaling, movement, and the small daily practices that help you come back home to yourself.

This episode is for you if you've ever felt disconnected from your body, ignored your needs, questioned your intuition, or felt like you were constantly searching outside of yourself for clarity. Your body is not the enemy. It is not broken. It is speaking — and today, we're helping you begin to listen.

Journal Prompts Mentioned In This Episode

Use these journal prompts to reconnect with your body, strengthen your intuition, and begin listening to your inner wisdom:

What is my body trying to tell me right now?

Where am I holding tension, and what might it be connected to?

When did I last feel truly at home in my body?

What am I ignoring that I know I shouldn't be?

What does my gut feeling say before my mind jumps in?

When I slow down and breathe, what feeling is underneath?

What would I do today if I fully trusted myself?

Where in my body do I feel joy? Where do I feel resistance?

What feels nourishing to me in this moment, and what feels draining?

What is something that no longer serves me that I'm ready to release?

What does a yes feel like in my body, and what does a no feel like?

What is one small promise I can make to myself today and actually keep?

What does my body need right now that I have been putting off?

  • In this episode, we’re sharing the stories behind who we are, how we met, and what brought us here.

Before we dive deeper into food, energy, hormones, nervous system regulation, and high-frequency living in future episodes, we wanted to slow down and let you get to know us — the real humans behind the microphones.

We talk about our personal paths, the moments that shaped us, the experiences that changed the way we see health, and why we both felt called to create this podcast together.

This is a more personal episode — part introduction, part life story, part “how did two functional nutritionists end up here having these conversations?” And honestly, it’s the beginning of everything we want this show to be: real, honest, grounded, a little funny, and deeply connected.

  • What does it actually mean to live at a high frequency — and is it just a buzzword, or is there real science behind it?

In this episode, Jen & Gillian break down the true meaning of high frequency living and why understanding your own energetic state is one of the most powerful things you can do for your health, your relationships, and your life.

At the heart of this conversation is Dr. David Hawkins' Map of Consciousness — a groundbreaking scale developed through decades of research that assigns a measurable frequency to every human emotion and state of being. From the lowest vibrations like shame and fear, all the way up through courage, love, and enlightenment — this map shows us exactly where we are energetically and what it takes to rise higher.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    — What the Map of Consciousness is and why it changes everything
    — Which emotions are low frequency and why they keep showing up in your body
    — What high frequency emotions feel like — and how to access them daily
    — Why your frequency affects everything from your gut health to your relationships
    — Simple, real shifts you can make today to start living higher

This is the episode that changes how you see everything. 🤍

Keep living at your highest frequency. ✨

  • It starts here. In this very first episode, Jen & Gillian pull back the curtain — sharing who they are, their personal healing journeys, how their friendship was born, and exactly why they created this space for you.

This isn't a polished intro. It's a real conversation between two friends who have been through it, are still in it, and believe deeply that healing is not a destination — it's a frequency you return to every single day.

If you've ever felt like something was off, like you were searching for your people, like you wanted real conversations instead of perfect answers — this episode is your sign.

You're exactly where you're supposed to be.

    Welcome home. 🤍
