15 sportsmen and women were inducted into a Ghana sports Hall of Fame in 2004 by the then Sports minister Kwadwo Baah Wiredu. 14 of the 15 were names many people expected to see on the list. The 15th name however shocked many - Capt Andy Sam (rtd).
What many did not know was that Andy Sam was a very good hockey player and cricketer in his day. He captained the team to win the first ever African Hockey Championship in 1974 in Egypt and then a World Cup appearance in 1975.

In 1966, Ghana went to the Commonwealth Games and came back as one of the best performing countries. Ghana finished with 5 gold medals - one of those medals came from the 4x100m relay race.This episode recounts that race and the medal win with Ebenezer Oko Addy - one of the sprinters in the legendry as he talks through the race, the moments in Kingston before the race, life in Ghana in the 60s and Nkrumah.

In 2003, Charles Taylor was the biggest footballer in the country. He was the league’s best player and goal king. Hearts had won the league and in fact dominated for 9 years. Kotoko in dire need of a lift turned to Taylor and he gave them a nod. The transfer did not go down well with Hearts and it became a huge tussle between the two clubs. Legal battles, pressure at the football association and kidnap attempts.
