The Grove Podcast is celebrating both it's 100th episode and beating Newcastle to qualify for the Champions League next season and pretty much sure up 2nd spot. Tabs is joined by Jamie on this special episode to talk through a game which was unnecessarily important and where all that mattered was the result. All in all quite a tense game, low in quality, but with moments from Raya and Rice that made the difference and edged it for Arsenal. We also have fun chatting about Calafiori, twatting the ball from long distance, Arteta's post math speech and hope for the future. We finish the pod laughing at Tottenham again and previewing a match that really and properly does not matter (barring some unprecedented Premier League GD turnaround), when we take on Southampton on the final day of the season.
We would like to say thanks to all of you that have listened over the last year and half since we started with our first pod being the 5-0 win against Crystal Palace, post Dubai. We’ve loved doing it I hope you’ve enjoyed listening to it too. We really appreciate you listenership and the interactions we’ve had with you online and in person. It’s also given us the chance to meet and get to know people from other Arsenal podcasts and in the Arsenal online community which has been really cool. Finally we also wanted to say a big thanks to all those from The Grove that have contributed in the past be it on the pod or with getting the pod out into the world and into your ears…..the likes of Whale, Tom, Chi, Sorn, Senzi, (apologies if I have forgotten anyone) then there’s the current crew of Kuziva, Jamie, Ian and then there’s Dawit (who does great work behind the scenes helping me with the socials)…and of course Mos who’s brainchild this all was back at the beginning and without whom we wouldn’t be here. SO thank you all for listening and here’s to the next 100 episodes.

(Due to technical issues this episode has been reuploaded)
In this special episode we talk to Senzi, from The Grove, about her experience at Arsenal's recent open training session at the Emirates, and what an experience is was. Senzi was one of a chosen few who got onto the pitch and to take part in the training session, meeting the players and generally "Fan-Girling"; she is still very much in shock!
She tells us all about being up close an personal with the likes of Ethan, Miles, Martin and Bukayo, what it's like to stand in the middle of The Carpet and how serious yet nice everyone is.
We end the show with a preview of the all important game against Newcastle at the weekend, where both teams will be vying for 2nd place and guaranteed Champions League football next season.
BTW: Sound quality not great up to min 6 and thereafter all good.

Arsenal show character to come back from 2-0 down to draw away to Liverpool, and there's a surprising amount to talk about given the relative importance of this game. Tabs is joined by Stef from @NorthBankPod for a doozy of an episode as we discuss the mood at Anfield home and away, why it was an important result, our character, Arteta's happiness, bad half / good half, TAA boo boys, dirty Arsenal and why losing 20 matches is a a deal breaker when it comes to having a better season. We then do the briefest of previews of the forthcoming Newcastle game.

It's a sad day for Gooners around the world as Arsenal's Champions League dream was ended by PSG. It was a tie of fine margins, missed chances and outstanding goalkeeping, where Arsenal's current limitations were exposed and things that just didn't go our way,. With our cups half full Tabs is joined by Ian (aka @ArseCannonPics) to pick through the game and reflect on the Champions League campaign as a whole before turning half an eye onto the weekend with a preview of Liverpool away; a game that we need to face with pride and is going to be a challenge for players and fans alike.

The Bournemouth game was a perfect encapsulation of our season. A depleted squad, not scoring enough, playing on the margins, some good football and some awful football, dropping points from winning position, conceding from set pieces and VAR incompetence, and in general making life difficult for ourselves when we have the chance to do the opposite. But we're just going to have to put the Bournemouth game to one side for now as it really is all about PSG and getting to Munich.
The OGs are back together as Tabs is joined, after a very long hiatus, by Mos to discuss the highs and lows from the Bournemouth game, Odegaard's form and, Rice's importance to the Team, our inability to score, and what happens when players minds are elsewhere and what it means for a Tope 5 finish. We then look ahead to the 2nd leg v PSG with hope and expectation that we can do the job and reach the Champions League Final. Tabs will be there … can Mos get a ticket?

It's advantage PSG in the UCL Champions League Semi-Final, but it's still only half time and we are very much still in it. Jamie and Tabs are on hand to talk through what started out as a party at the Emirates which then very quickly had all the balloons popped. We discuss the atmosphere, the quality of PSG, the impact of Partey missing, where we went wrong, what might have been, how good MLS is and the reaction to the performance and result. We also try to understand what is going wrong with Odegaard and what we can be done about it, before looking ahead to the game nobody has any appetite for, Bournemouth on Saturday early evening.

Arsenal got what they deserved from a lacklustre and sloppy 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace, our 13th of the season, and it's more points are dropped from a winning position. Tabs is a little irritated and Jamie is more sanguine, as we discuss how doing the bare minimum was not enough to beat a spirited and decent Crystal Palace side and how it doesn't really matter as we have much bigger things on our minds.
We then look ahead to what is an enticing match up against PSG in the Champions League Semi Final. This match up worries Tabs but Jamie is more confident as PSG's strengths could also be their weakness; it's a hard one to call and all results and scorelines are possible, including a 4-3 ding-dong goal fest. It's going to be an exciting few days in the build up and fingers crossed it's not all spent on the TX!

It was a good and easy win for The Arsenal over Ipswich (I suspect we’ve had harder training sessions) as they keep things ticking over for 2nd place and was pretty much exactly what we needed following the adrenaline rush of The Bernabéu and an eye on PSG; with the only issue being the agricultural tackling by some of The Tractor boys and their idiotic fans booing Saka for being kicked! Fortunately for us (and the FPL gurus) Saka seems to be fine.
Tabs is joined by Kuziva to go over the key moments and key performances from the likes of Leo, Merino, Odegaard and Saka from the game and to debate what a "nutmeg" is.
We also find time to laugh at Manchester United and Tottenham, before looking ahead to PSG and what is likely to be the most non intense, non-contact football game ever when Arsenal take on Crystal Palace midweek with both team having an eye on forthcoming priority Cup games.

WOW! We just beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the Bernabéu & 5-1 on aggregate in the Quarter Finals of the Champions League! We’re just better than them, that’s the beauty of it. This win is massive and will hit hard around Europe & The World. Tabs and Ian (aka @ArseCannonPics) are here to discuss and enjoy every last moment of an almost perfect European away performance and the incredible job Arteta is doing with this squad. We then look forward to the semi-final v PSG and beyond, before crashing back to Premier League earth with a bump as we take on Ipswich on Sunday as we look to maintain 2nd spot with as little fuss as possible.
With special guest Larry David and Paul McCartney

We believe Arsenal played a match v Brentford on Saturday but it seems people have already forgotten about it and can only think about Real Madrid on Wednesday. Well, we are here to remind you what happened in another frustrating draw for The Arsenal, where we equalled The Invincibles record (the drawing part not the winning). We discuss some of the big moments in the game, the Team selection challenges, and what it means for our Top 5 finish. We then go all in on discussing Real Madrid, Team selection decisions, yellow cards, and what to expect at the Bernabéu hoping for strong a strong ref and that our pragmatic approach will help is win out. Jamie and Kuziva are confident but Tabs is a nervous wreck...anything can, may and will happen.

Just wow, wow, wow! This is not a game that requires too much analysis. Amazing atmosphere, amazing performance, amazing goals, Arsenal dominated the best team in UCL history and totally deserved their 3-0 victory in the UCL Quarter Final 1st Leg at the Emirates. Tabs and Ian (aka @ArseCannonPics) are on hand to extract maximum joy from that performance, looking back at the glorious goals and top class performances, sharing their experiences of being at the game and then looking ahead to the return leg. We then finish with a preview of the most trappy of trap games against Brentford at the weekend.

A frustrating but predictable draw for Arsenal who were very much playing with Madrid on their minds, where 1-0 should have been enough to win this game until Darren England made sure that wasn't the case . Tabs is joined by Kuziva to discuss these points as well as MLS' reputation, draw specialists, Kiwior MOTM and cult hero Merino. We then get all excited about the the 1st leg of the Champions League Quarter Finals, where we preview and discuss line-ups and the inevitable but not invincible Real Madrid . This is what it's all about folks!

Arsenal's win and Saka's return are tainted by defensive injuries and big concerns ahead of the upcoming Champions League Quarter Finals against Real Madrid.
Tabs is joined by Ian aka @ArseCannonPics to talk through the highs and lows of the win against Fulham, trying to find some cheer amidst the overriding gloom, discussing Martinelli's impressive performance, Saka's glorious scoring return, what will the back 4 look like v Real Madrid.
We have a quick chat about Andrea Berta and strikers before ending with a preview of the Everton game pondering on whether to wrap everyone up in cotton wool or give players time to bond.

The final international break of the season is over, Arsenal are back (almost) and so is our Starboy, Bukayo Saka, so all is well in the world.
In this episode Tabs, Jamie and Kuziva dive into the highs and lows of the international break, discussing Saka's return and what it means for Arsenal, MLS's incredible England debut, another Nwaneri trademark goal, another Calafiori trademark injury, Odegaard's return to form, what price for Gabriel, fan reaction to players leaving and then finishing off with a preview of Arsenal A v Arsenal B (aka Fulham) hoping that it's no joke for Arsenal on April 1st.

It's the international break and it's time for another in our series of Arsenal Online Community-casts. In this episode we had the huge pleasure of getting to chat with Paul 'Poz' Cassidy from the award winning ArsenalVision podcast. You'll hear about his Arsenal supporting origins, why he compares the ArsenalVision team to the Beatles, why pre-match meditation may not be optimal for post game analysis, thoughts on membership tiers that should include a 'showering with the players' option, his love for Liam Brady, a new idea for ArseCannonPics and why Isak is THE ONE!
Get to know more about the man behind the 'Woo Hoo' and his love for all things Arsenal!

It's a beautiful day as Arsenal easily beat Chelsea, again. The win was all that mattered and a delirious Tabs is joined by Jamie and Ian to discuss the game, hard working Merino, sensible team selections, defensive excellence and their mutual contempt for that odious and bitter Club. We finish with a bit of a look at the battle for Champions League places and give praise to MLS on his deserved England call up.

Arsenal are through to the quarter finals of the Champions League and it's a glamour tie against Real Madrid that awaits. This is what i's all about, right? Ian (@arsecannonpics) joins Tabs to discuss a stress free PSV 2nd leg as the squad players get minutes and Reheem stars (sort of). We then have some Champions League chat, Ian makes a bold prediction and we laugh a little at Liverpool before previewing the important and a very much hated fixture v clown car of club Chelsea at the weekend.

It's back to Premier League earth with a dull thud, as toothless Arsenal just about get away with 1-1 draw against a very poor Manchester United team. Tabs is joined by a lounging Ian (@arsecannonpics) & a speechless Jamie to discuss Arsenal's woes in attack, the inability to break down low blocks, sterile domination, Raya saving the day, Rice's emotions and dysfunctional substitutions. We then spend a few minutes discussing the appintment of Andrea Berta as Sporting Director and then finish off with a very quick preview of the UCL R16 2nd Leg v PSV.

We do cover the good and the not so good from the game before looking at the bigger picture and how we should start to look at the season as a whole, appreciate the progess is not always linear, what impact it may have on the future and try and see what lessons we can learn from it. We then take a look at the R16 UCL 1st Leg v PSV next Tuesday where Tabs gurantees goals and Jamie drops facts about PSV
